Handy Husband installed a new vanity and replaced bathroom tiles for us. The tiles and vanity look good. However, when the job was first "completed," the pipe under the sink was leaking, a section of drywall was not replaced (this was included in our original contract), the door to the bathroom was not replaced (it was left in another room of our home), the bathroom shades were not replaced (left on our bedroom floor), and tools and shards of broken tiles were left in our shower. To his credit, the worker returned to correct most of these issues. Unfortunately, the installed pipe continued to leak. By this point the worker seemed to be upset with us for needing to come back again, as though it was our fault that the pipes he installed continued to leak. On the third try it was fixed. Then we realized that there was no hot water. This was because they had left the hot water valve off. When turned on, water leaked from the back of the faucet down into the cabinet space. Again to his credit, the worker returned and told us the problem was a defective faucet. He kindly offered to reinstall the faucet if we got a new one. By the time it arrived they had already been paid, and now they are refusing to follow through on their offer to reinstall it. I don't even mind this so much......it wasn't their fault the faucet was defective...but there was such a tone of hostility and unprofessionalism in their refusal that I just felt disappointed in the end.

Whenever I have an issue in my house, Kit is my first call. He sends someone out and usually they fix it. If they can't, they give me a name of someone else to call and don't charge me. One time a repair was very easy and he felt bad for charging me, so he went around my house and fixed up a few other things to make it worth it. Great people.

I continue to be impressed with Lou and his team at Handy Husband. They promptly responded to my call to look at a leaky window that I couldn't seem to fix (despite the large hole I had made in my wall.) Greg came out, diagnosed the problem and made the repair. Rather than just fix it, close up the wall and leave, he offered to come back in a couple of days to make sure the leak had truly been repaired. He did come back, verified the fix and patched up the wall and trim. I very much appreciated the extra effort to ensure the job was done right. Will definitely do business with Handy Husband again!

Lou and his HH guys are the BEST. It's bad enough having a problem that's difficult but finding someone to fix it is worse. "Handy Husband" has done several jobs for me and they guys are POLITE and NEAT and Professional. Each time they were able to do my job without charging me an arm and a leg. My friend has even had these guys do some painting for her, in fact - after I write this review I'm going to thank her for telling me about Lou and his guys. :)

Lou knew exactly what to do. My tenant's door was broken and she needed the door repaired quickly. Lou came out the next day and assessed the damages and knew just how to repair the door. He also gave me some good advice on future replacement of the door. He gave a great price. It was nice not to be pressured to repair or replace unneeded items. Plus my tenant felt great about their service. Thank you! Yvonne S.

I contacted HH via their website yesterday after reading the glowing reviews on Kudzu. Lou called me last night. I asked him for a quote to reinforce our basement double doors. I enjoyed chatting with him and was immediately impressed with his friendliness and customer service, as well as the fairness of the price quote. This morning he called to say that the repairman would be at my house at noon. Kit showed up right on time. He not only did an excellent job completing exactly the work we requested, but he went above and beyond. He replaced short screws in the door hinges with 3" ones to make the doors more secure, something I never would have known about. As he worked, he explained everything he was doing and gave me hints about future repairs I could do for myself. We were so impressed with Kit and this company that we will actually look for more projects around our house just so we can have them come out again! Now that is the best recommendation I could ever give!

Jerry did an awesome job!! He was on time, was very courteous, efficient and my Mom was very pleased. We plan on having him do more work for us in the future. It's nice to know there are still "good guys" out there that you can rely on.

Lou was very responsive and clearly cares about providing good service, no matter how big or small the job. Adam was our tech and he called while on his way and showed up right on time and finished right on time. He was very professional and didn't leave a mess at all. They were flexible with scheduling which is greatly appreciated. I found their rates to be fair. Glad I found them here!

The Handy Husband crew did an great job on a variety of home improvement projects at our home. It was a pleasure working with Cheryl. She was not only professional, but often went far beyond the 'normal' job description to offer her opinion and suggestions when needed. We truly appreciated her help and direction on our home improvement projects. Cheryl always listened to our questions/concerns and offered up suggestions and answers to us. She and Dave did an outstanding job in completing our projects and we felt completely comfortable working with them. We truly appreciate all the hard work Cheryl and Dave devoted to helping us improve our home.

Handy Husband has gained a customer for life. I called and they arrived same day within just a few hours, they repaired my faucet in a matter of minutes and could have totally upcharged me since a lot of companies have minimum fees and charge you for just coming out to do a job. Not Handy Husband. They gave me a reasonable price and were extremely professional and didn't take advantage of me. With our house up for sale I have worked with a lot of different handymen, contractors, etc. and I have never been more impressed than I was with Handy Husband. I will refer them to all my friends and will continue to use them forever!

I had an expensive storm door installed a little over a year ago. The contractor who installed the door for me never did get the door installed correctly. The lock and latch never did work, even after the contractor came back twice to repair. Handy Husband came out and within ONE HOUR had the lock and latch working properly. The gentleman Handy Husband sent out (Kit) was right on time and knew what he was doing. I am very pleased that I found Handy Husband to do jobs around the house.

Lou Alvarado runs his business The Handy Husband, like a professional. He was prompt to schedule a service man to come and work up an estimate and delivered the estimate via e-mail within a couple days. We were able to schedule the work fairly quickly after that. The estimate was a little higher than we would have liked of course, but as I had used HH in the past, I was confident the higher price would be balanced out by quality workmanship. One of the repairs we requested was not completed as we expected and I dropped Lou an e-mail a couple days later to let him know we were not happy with the finished product. Lou was quick to react and scheduled a different service man to come and repair the fence again. After that second visit, we could not have been happier - the fence was repaired exactly as we'd hoped it would be. You will probably not get the cheapest price from Handy Husband, but you will get professionalism and quality. I was very impressed - many times after a contractor receives payment, there is not much follow up to ensure customer satisfaction. But Lou and the Handy Husband went above and beyond what I expected in. That sort of work ethic is hard to find these days.
