We are so happy both our boys are attending HPPM. I'm always hearing nightmare stories about other schools and other districts of all the problems they have. I'm so thankful we do not have them at HPPM. We had one major issue we brought up to the principal and superintendent with regard to safety concerning visitors to the school. Within a short time afterward (I'm not sure how much affect we had on the matter, if any, as I think it was already being considered) the issue was addressed and fixed. Our kids love it there. I only wish we lived a little closer.

I've had kids in HPPM for 5 years now. Most of their teachers have been outstanding. The new principal this year looks to be a winner. Sure, I don't like some things in the curriculum, but that's an RISD issue, not an HPPM issue. There is a great energy in the school, and LOTS going on - DI, Invention Convention, school picnics, talent show, stomp team, science fair, science store, book fairs, doughnuts with dad, muffins with mom, lots of field trips, school pep rallies, Cici pizza nights, Reflections, field days, class picnics, student banking, multicultural night, silent auction, free after-school classes. It has its own REACH program with 3 teachers. All kids take Spanish, music, art, and computers weekly. The older kids take drama. They have a full-size auditorium. I could go on but I think I'll stop there!
We toured several public schools in Lake Highlands and none of them could offer what HPPM does. My daughter loves going to school. HPPM has programs not offered in other schools: free extended day classes that actually teach the children (not just baby-sit), chess club for 3 hours a week, 2 full time Spanish Teachers, 2 full time Music teachers, a band, a stomp team, a Theatre Arts Department, 2 PE Coaches, a science lab, computer lab, 2 counselors, 3 REACH (gifted and talented) specialists on-site, Artfest, field day, school picnics, an auditorium, and an active PTA. Call the school to schedule a tour. You will be glad that you did.
I am proud to say my children have been part of HPPM for 6 years and my husband has been a mentor here 10+ years. We considered public schools in Lake Highlands (our neck of the woods) and private schools across the city and I am so pleased that this is where we are. My children have blossomed here. HPPM has programs not offered in other schools, we have 2 full time Spanish Teachers, 2 full time Music teachers, a band, a stomp team, a Theatre Arts Department, 2 PE Coaches, a beautiful library, science lab, computer lab, 2 counselors, 3 REACH (gifted and talented) specialists, a beautiful campus, Artfest, field day, school picnics, an auditorium, a very active PTA and best of all we have administrators and teachers who adore our children and their jobs. We have it all!
I was a student here and learned so many valuable lessons. I love it so much I'm now back! One of the things about HPPM I appreciate the most is the opportunity to get to know people of all races and backgrounds. I do not know of any other school that is quite so diverse! There are so many wonderful activities with which our students can get involved! Students come and receive a truly well-rounded education, year after year. This is an exciting place to be!
We came from private school and found HPPM to be a fabulous alternative. We are so pleased with the teachers and the wide variety of activities / clubs / programs available. Our kids love it here and in fact asked why we didn't send them there in Kindergarten.

I am so glad that we made the choice to attend Hamilton Park! My kids enjoy their teachers and classmates. I love all the parents that I have met. It is a wonderful enviroment for families.
This is the best you can do for your kids in public school. They have great programs, facilities, teachers and students. On-site REACH teachers are a special bonus as are the science lab, auditorium, Extended Day program, and full-size track just to name a few. Principal Megan Timme is new in Fall 2008 and is re-energizing the school once again. If you're looking for a school in RISD, come to a scheduled tour and take a look!

You could not find a better school in RISD. The staff, teachers and kids are the best in the district. The REACH program is unbeatable. The energy of the school is evident as soon as you walk in the door. Go, see and experience for yourself!
