Intimate, high-end salon offering professional services such as styling, color, texture, treatments, bridal, up-do's, eyebrows and make up.
Intimate, high-end salon encased in a luxurious space that exudes style and sophistication. Haruo Noro brings his remarkable hairstyling talent from his native Japan to New York and now Ridgewood.
Prior to arrival, setting up an appointment with Haruo Noro salon is a hassle in itself. I'm busy throughout the day with tasks and obligations, so waiting 15 minutes for the non English speaking receptionist to search for service prices is inexcusable. Recently a close friend said they raised the already inflated prices for women's cuts to $120. This is quite the norm for this salon as prices are consistently and drastically being altered regardless of customer loyalty. Upon arrival, you will find the location to be less than stellar. The floor is riddled with hair and the venue is very small compared to salons I've been in. The establishment is in a barren part of Ridgewood, New Jersey. When you walk in, don't expect to be warmly greeted at the door. Not one of the employees asked to take my coat or offer me a drink, so I sat on the couch and read a magazine. After waiting an hour after my originally scheduled allotted time slot, I sat to get my hair washed. When I finally sat for the consultation, Haruo seemed very rushed and busy. This made me incredibly off ease in what they advertise as a "tranquil environment." To see the stylist negligently parading around the salon made me incredibly nervous. When you go to a salon you want to feel stress-free from the rigors of everyday life, not weary and uncomfortable. Not to mention that I was not given a beverage throughout this whole fiasco.
