I had a very bad experience with this company last summer. I paid nearly $3,000 to have a living room, hallway, bathroom and kitchen painted in a small condo. The price was so high due to wall damage that this company was supposed to repair, smoothing out my walls. The job was finished in 3 days, not 5-6 as I was told. That's an indication that the prep wasn't done properly. When I expressed my disappointment, Madelyn was very difficult to deal with. She offered a refund, then immediately took that offer back and said she would like to fix it herself. She spent two days at the place trying to patch her way through the prep work that wasn't done in the first place. The walls looked terrible. I have since hired a painter to take care of the 2nd half of the unit, which had walls that were in worse shape, and it looks like completely new drywall -- for less than half the price. I also paid $500 to have the walls HPR painted re-done and they did a far superior job. The bottom line is that I was pretty much scammed out of $3,000.
The agreement was to repair and paint 3 rooms
Area Atlanta, GA
Cost $1,000 - $2,999

Service Provider Response:Edit
Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback on my company. I value feedback of all kinds in my continual pursuit of excellence. As my many other reviews on Angie's List suggest, customer satisfaction and pride in craftsmanship is extremely important to me. In this case, I'm sorry for any miscommunication or unexpected obstacles that came along the way during this project. Follow-up/touch-ups can be necessary for projects requiring surface restorations, depending on the level of restoration and build up that each client needs (your plaster walls are sixty years old), or decides upon for their walls. Attention to detail and satisfaction are both extremely important to me, though, which is why I was happy to follow up with any need for touch-ups (something that is fairly rare, though, as it's important to make those touch ups on-site, right away).Regarding the other two rooms, you had told me you were planning to paint them yourself since they weren't plaster walls and needed little, if any, prep work. Admittedly, I'm a little shocked to see this negative review, though, given that you said you were happy with the results. I stand behind my work and it was a joy to see the finished product with the color transformation in your home.
Sincerely, Madelyn Posey
This company did a great job on restoring my deck this year. From the initial deep pressure washing to then staining my deck with two coats, the results were amazing. She did a great job at a fair price, and I took pictures so I can share if anybody wants to see them. Don't just go for the cheapest option because I have been burned by that approach before. Trust this company, and they will do you right.

Madelyn Posey has done a number of painting jobs for us over a ten-year period, including a complete down-to-the wood prepping of the entire exterior an 80-year-old Morningside cottage. Her attention to detail, both in prepping and final painting, is always very satisfactory. Her latest job for us was cleaning up the mess left by a remediation service (water damage). Matched the paint perfectly. Her pricing is always very competitive, she's prompt, and a real craftsman.

Hiring HPR was the best service provider decision I have made in a while. They were very prompt and professional. I have an old bungalow with years of peeling, mold and rotten wood. After cleaning all mold and dirt, they prepped for four days before sanding, priming, painting! Very Detailed! Will have them paint my interior this fall.

We hired this company a couple of years ago to paint the interior of our home. They were super nice people and very dog-friendly. The work quality seemed good at first, but after it dried, there were a lot of lumps and patches that could have been done better. I don't think they did enough prep work--just sanding and that was about it. No smoothing over or wiping off of walls. I asked them to come back and fix a couple of messy blotches while I was out, and the fixed part looked worse than the original. Some tape started coming off the ceiling and wall creases after just a couple months, and I'm finding places where you can see the primer because not enough coats were applied. Also, they painted around all my light fixtures, rather than taking them off and painting. Now that I changed light fixtures, I have white rings (the former ceiling color)or else messy paint colors where we tried to fix it ourselves. Not really what I expected, given the good reviews I saw on another site.

Sorry to hear about problems a couple of months after job completion, never heard from you. Please call Madelyn Posey 404-508-1055 asap to address any problems! More than a "glance" at completed job because final check was picked up a week 'after' job completion; you raved about how good it looked! You must have my Co. confused with another, we were never asked to fix anything when you inspected. We always remove all fixtures/plates that do not require an electrician.
