Hight Veterinary Hospital PA University Area
I have taken my dogs to Hight's for many years. They are a very professional and compassionate group and have always treated me and my animals with the greatest of care. They have never performed any services I did not approve and went above and beyond when one of my doggies had a reaction to sedation. Couldn't ask for any better!

I moved to Charlotte 18 months ago and began taking my dogs to Hights Veterinary Hospital on N.Tryon. From my first visit, I felt uncomfortable with the general demeanor in the clinic. Over the months that passed, I found they would never answer a question over the phone. Rather, I was required to pay for an office visit to get the answer. I found some of their practices & charges unreasonable and voiced my dissatisfaction. They showed no concern. Recently I took one of my dogs in to get a price for a tooth extraction. I told them my funds were limited and that I couldn't afford over a certain amount. They told me that she had to have two shots (just boosters) blood work, etc. I told them that I could not afford them at that time - I just wanted the tooth extracted. After pressing them, they quoted a price for the tooth & verified that included all realted costs. When I picked her up that afternoon,my bill was $150 over the price quoted. They performed services that I clearly told them not to do. When I expressed my dissatisfaction, they showed no concern. When I refused to pay for a portion of the bill($59),I received a very nasty letter (within 2 days)threatening to damage my credit if I didn't pay. Within 30 days they turned it over to a collection agency and are now threatening additional action. They have refused to negotiate. I have been shocked by their inhumane attitude & refusal to discuss the matter. It's clear that making money is all they care about.
