Have been here many times-always great food, good service, best home-made apple strudel around. Owners are usually present and on top of everything. I love to go there.

This place is so awesome. It smells like a German restaurant when you walk in and the food matches the good smell. I have been twice and the first time I got homemade liverwurst and the second time I got homemade bologna. Both were soooo good. I wish I could remember the name of the beer I had the second time. It was a darker German beer that was even better. The spatzle is really really good. My finance loves the gravy, but I like it plain. The chicken and veal are also very very good. Oh, and did I mention the warm German potato salad was really good too. Unfortunately we were too full to get desert, but they look incredible and they are made right there. I highly recommend this restaurant even if you don't like German food- they have an American portion of the menu as well.

Hollerbach's is one of the anchors of downtown Sanford. I've gotten the wienerschnitzel and sausage platters, always with good results. I highly recommend the heaven & earth (Himmel und Erde) potatoes and the warm German potato salad.

One of Sanford's favorite restaurants and fun-spots (Thursdays through the weekend music and Sunday brunch). The soups - the soups! - make me almost forget to eat the salads: trouble is both are so good (and the soups change daily) I often have to take much of the main course home. And that's a shame, because the sausages and the heaven-and-earth potatoes and the roast pork shanks have me drooling over the keyboard. And that's another problem: co-owner and pastry czar Linda Hollerbach's desserts are too good to pass up: and they change daily, too. Chef co-owner Theo Hollerbach and staff attend to welcomes, thankyous and stellar attention: the knowledgable staff can guide your wine-beer-spirits desires as well. Just a delight to visit.
