Hollow Rock is not a trustworthy organization. It has falsely claimed to be a 501c3 charity. Hollow Rock is actually a 501c7 social and recreational club which provides no "benefit" to society as in the case of 501c3 tax-exempt organizations. See attached photo of a public Facebook post where Hollow Rock falsely declared itself a 501c3 organization in order to solicit donations for the club on "Giving Tuesday," the day people around the world are asked to give to those less fortunate than themselves. Also, since hiring its new manager to take over in Jan 2015, Hollow Rock has had one problem after another with its aquatic operations. On July 14, Durham County Emergency response management had to send a dozen fire trucks, police cars, and EMS vehicles to the club when 100 gallons of hazardous hypochlorite spilled at its pool facility. The officials had to evacuate the club as a result of this toxic chemical leak.
