We have had Luis do several jobs for us. First was the repair of an interior door jam. He did a very professional job at a very reasonable price. We then asked him for a quote for a much larger job - replacing our staircase treads, risers, and balustrades. Again,he did a terrific job with great attention to detail. Both the small job door job and the larger staircase job were quoted at very reasonable prices. Our third job for Luis was for removal of carpet and installation of hardwood floors. Once again, he quoted a reasonable price and did high quality work; he started on time, finished on time, cleaned up the worksite when he was finished. I have recommended him to several friends and coworkers, and have already scheduled a fourth job for Luis for painting and replacement of a large light fixture in our foyer.

Hired Luis based on the Kudzu reviews, boy was I wrong. His rates were also good and he came out to my house and called me with an estimate in a timely manner. However, when he came to do the job his price changed. He did not do all the work that I hired him to do and wanted to be paid for what he had done. I went ahead and paid him just to get him out of my house

We have been using Luis for four years now and he has always done excellent work. We have found him to be very honest and has alway given us a fair price. He also tells is like it is and it is up to us to make the choice. So far we have listened to him and he has been right. If we do have a problem, Luis always comes out and fixes it at no extra cost. We highly recommend him. mehs515

Here are the facts, you be the judge: 1.Awarded the contract to Luis based on price of $465 he quoted for replacing window panes that were sent to me by the manufacturer. 2.The day he was to show, he didn't arrive until well after our agreed upon time (no call from him). Nonetheless, I left a key under the mat for him, stating this in a voice mail to him (he didn't answer the phone, even though he was supposed to be at my house by then). 3. Once finally arriving, he left several "urgent" voice mails saying he couldn't find the key (you can't find a key under the door mat?!). Now that he finally arrived, it was an urgent situation for him. I was well into a business meeting by now. 4. He finally found the key, apparently, but his next voice mail was the he didn't "realize the window panes would be so difficult to install," and was upping his quote to $3,100! This is a 600 percent increase in price! 5. Luis had come to my house for the original quote, been shown the window replacements, looked at the windows on the house - and had been handed the replacement instructions that came with the windows. He had all the possible and conceivable information he needed at time of quote. 6. When I balked at his 'bait and switch' tactic, he got angry with me and hung up on me! Here's my judgement: This is a Latino with some major attitude and unsavory business practices. Move on the the myriad of other handyman who are honest, dependable and worthy of your money

I have had the crew out to my home and rental three times. The work has always been done on time and with great success. I have had patching, painting, lighting installed, attic stairs and fans. Each time I am very happy with the work. I highly recommend for doubting, worried, confused home owners big or small like me.

I found Luis through Kudzu and he has done some small carpentry jobs to my house. I am very pleased with his work and he has been very reliable. I will keep using him for future work. He is a great guy!

Luis came as stated and provided a quote as requested. When he came to fix the light, he repaired it in a timely manner and the price was not as expensive as I had thought.

We hired Luis at Home Improvement Plus to install a new linoleum kitchen floor. Luis was very meticulous and always concerned about doing the job correctly. His workmanship was superb and his conscientiousness is refreshing. His prices are extremely reasonable especially for the quality of work that you get. Thanks Luis for a great job!! We are extremely satisfied. I highly recommend Home Improvement Plus.

Despite a couple of negative comments (some folks just like to gripe and that was the case when I looked to see what they said about other businesses), On a nasty 8ft section of rotted out roof overhang three floors up high...replaced the section, caulked and painted, cleaned gutter and installed vinyl guards, replaced dual light fixture and threaded my satellite cable back into the attic for reconnection. Since I do most of my repairs myself and quite critical of other work that costs me, Luis did a great job at a fair price. Very pleasant man. -Mike Witter

Luis came to my home in a timely manner, gave estimate the next day for replacing some siding, trim and painting. The price was reasonable. I could not get 2 other people to even give me an estimate after 10 days. He helped me get paint to match the existing outside color. He worked consistantly, did all he committed to do and finished quickly. I would use him again.

I call Mr. Riveria for an estimate on installing a garage door opener and was quoted an exorbitant price! Much more than commerical companies charge. I would not recommend this company.

Mr.Rivera came to my home to give me an estimate on replacing wood rot, replacings damage siding and painting the exterior of my home. Mr. Rivera told me he would email me with an estimate because this is his peferred method if the job will be a $1,000.00 or more. This was on March 23th around 10:00Am. Today is March 27th and I have not received a phone call or email. If you can not trust a man to keep his word, why hire him to work for you? I am moving on to the next contractor.

I contracted these folks to do some handyman work on one of my properties. Much to my dissapointment, the work was not completed as agreed and what was completed was not satisfactory. The HIP owner damaged cold water pipes in my laundry room, which I was forced to repair myself (and at my own cost). Live electical outlets were covered with sheetrock. Portions of work that were not easy for me to inspect visually were intentionally not completed - including a vapor barrier which caused a mold infestation, paint/wood damage, and increased energy bills (costing me several thousand dollars to remedy - more than the original cost of the work). Note that all employees do not speak English and their work status is questionable. Use extreme caution when dealing with these folks, or better yet, don't deal with them at all.

This is false accusations by Kcargile, I have been quite frank with them and done nothing but do extra work at no cost from the beginning and defaming me and my company is surley a sad thing that they would say such deceit. I warranty my work and if their was any problems I will surely have taken care of the situation personally at no cost.
