If you have ever had a tattoo in your life, you know you can't just walk in and say "I want a tribal", and leave happy. You can't be "in a hurry" or expect that "a tattoo is a tattoo". After all, no two paintings are alike! Every artist has a different style. Pairing the right artist with the style you're looking for can make all the difference. There is research that goes into a good tattoo and that means TIME, so an appointment is the best idea. I walked in with an idea and had some useful conversation. I could've gotten tattooed the same day if I didn't care about quality. After giving the artists there time to work with the piece, I got some amazing work done. I'm very happy with the customer service. The guys are genuine and helpful. They have a wealth of knowledge and experience between them. I have gone back multiple times an have referred friends who have also been repeat customers. Great team of artists here!!! Highly recommended!!!

Walk in and start talking to the counter guy. His face resembling a frog. I ask if they still have openings. He says yes and what would I like. I describe a tribal type of tattoo. His comment is "That would look awkward and weird but ok. I think we can do it". He leads me to the back and ask me to look at some folders to pick an artist. I explain I will take who ever is available as long as they are licensed. He then tells me that the tattoo I am asking for may take a while. I should pick and artist and make an appointment. I tell him once again I do not care about the artist and that it is just a tribal type tattoo and would like to talk to one of the artist so I can explain and get this going. The frog looking character takes three steps towards the back of the shop and turns to me. "Oops looks like no one is available." I say you are kidding me right? He says nope. "Looks like we just took in another walk in."

If you are looking for an exceptional place to get your first or next tattoo, please look no further than Hopeless Ink. Joey Burnz and the whole crew there are the most down to earth people I have met at any tattoo shop, hands down. Right when you walk in to the door to Hopeless Ink, you feel comfortable. I'm currently getting work done by Joey, his style and knowledge is top notch and you wont find a better place around that will work with any idea that you can come up with. Please check them out, you won't be disappointed I promise you that.

I went into hopeless looking for a cover up of a tattoo and got much more. I gave Joey an idea of what I wanted and he went with it, he made the tattoo into something original and let me know what he was going to do as he went along. The over all work looked amazing when finished and i'm absolutely in love with it. Joey is very friendly and is very serious about the detail that he put's into his work. The color's he uses on his tattoos are amazing and brings them to life. If your looking for a well done tattoo with amazing detail and color I would recommend Joey at Hopeless Ink

I had a wonderful experience at Hopeless Ink. Joey Burnz is truly a pleasure to work with. He is much more than just a tattoo artist. He is a artist through and through. His talent is immeasurable. He's literally off the charts. I have never seen tattoo artistry that even compares with his work. The detail work he does is superb. And every detail is perfect, as he is a perfectionist. If it's color you want, he has it mastered. I can't even begin to explain his techniques with transition and shading. I have had my tattoo for a couple of days now. Everywhere I go I have received constant attention and compliments. So far a few people didn't believe me that is was a real tattoo. They thought it was airbrushed on. My friends have tattoo envy, and are daydreaming about the tattoo that they would like Joey to embellish their body with. Being tattooed by Joey was a relaxing experience. He is filled with positive energy, and is truly enjoying himself at his work. His humble confidence puts you at ease, without a doubt in your mind. I would highly recommend Joey Burnz to anyone. Although, if you see my tattoo you will be begging me for his contact information. Every time I look at my tattoo I am falling deeper and deeper in love with it. It is something that I will gladly live with for the rest of my life.

've never know a tattoo shop that doesn't like to tattoo. We were stood up twice even though we had set appointments. The first time who knows why and the second time so Grayden could get some food. They're pretty pathetic. Grayden said he was really "excited" and couldn't even follow through. I would hate to have started the piece and then had this happen half way through the process. My recommendations, DON'T GO TO HOPELESS INK, there are plenty of great tattoo shops in the Portland/ Seattle area!

I'm a professional businessman that had a drawing made by my daughter. I took this "pinup" girl drawing around to several places and ended up at Hopeless Ink with Drew Arno. This couldn't have come together any better. The whole crew is great to be around and Drew is easy to work with. And he's a great artist. He not only recreated my daughter's drawing, he's also reworking old tats and adding more to the whole scheme on my left deltoids area. I'll be going back. Highly recommended.

From the very beginning, all of the folks at Hopeless were friendly and down to earth. I am incredibly pleased with their service and with the environment of the shop. If you're looking for a quality tattoo, some of the best out there, then go here. The artists are amazing and will honor your time while formulating a piece that will make you all kinds of happy. If I ever get another tattoo I won't have to think twice about heading back to Hopeless. You seriously can't go wrong. Do yourself a favor and get some ink at Hopeless.
