I now understand why this restaurant has been rated top for the best prime rib in town! The service was great, the food was delicious and A LOT of it for the cost and it was cooked exactly the way I ordered it. The staff was very professional from the person I spoke to on the phone to make reservations all the way to the manager that came over to the table to ensure that my dinner was going as I expected it to be. The restaurant was dimly lit which was perfect for my romantic anniversary dinner. If I had to choose only one particular thing I enjoyed the most about my experience it would be the item that they call the "table side salad" the server literally brings a little salad bar to your table side and makes you a customized dinner salad. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone for any occasion.

We only go here on special occasions due to the price. The prime rib is excellent. Atmosphere varies depending on which room you're in, but for me is the least attractive feature overall.

Service is spot on, food is above average, and prices are fair. The table side salad is fun to receive and build. The vegetables are fresh and prepare very well. The beef is a given, it is always good. The location is central, Mission Valley off of Taylor St. Can't go wrong.

Moving to San Diego, I missed a lot of things about my hometown of Ventura. The Hungry Hunter was one of them, until I discovered that we had one here! Great steaks and appetizers, luscious desserts, lovely mood lighting, great service. What else could you really ask for in a steakhouse? It definitely won't be A1 sauce anyway... their steaks hold up fabulously on their own.

I was a little disappointed on my first and only visit here. I'm a huge fan of a chain back in Ohio called Mountain Jacks and was excited to see this was another chain owned by the same company. My expectations were too high, which is why I believe I wasn't satisfied. The location isn't great (we all know how traffic is right there around rush hour), however it's a very charming little place. Maybe I should give it another whirl? Everyone else seemed to be happy with it:)

Eat here for reasonable food costs and great portions. One of San Diego's treasures and a long time reputation in San Diego. This place has awesome Prime Rib. You get a full course meal with soup, salad, and a nice portion entree. If you have room for desert good luck. I always need a bag for leftovers.

The Hungry Hunter in Mission Valley is a wonderful restaurant. It's a great place to bring the whole family. Beautiful, relaxing setting. Very comfortable atmosphere. The food is delicious and tastey. They have great service. Our waitress was very nice and friendly.

the food taste great but it might put a dent in your back pocket book. it may be worth the money if you have it but if you dont want to spend over 30 for a meal then dont do it

This is the last Hungry Hunter in my range. The decor is Woodsy, the food is made to order, and is really good. It is a little pricey, but well worth the cost. The restaurant might be a little hard to find as it sits back from a freeway overpass.
