I have had my appointments rescheduled multiple times at the last minute. One time I showed up and there was not a dentist there. The office staff is NOT friendly and everything is an inconvenience to them. I've had issues with my billing and each time they say they need to have someone else look at it and call me back. No one ever calls/emails me and all i receive is a periodic bill in the mail for the un-reviewed portion that is outstanding.

High pressure, hard sell, even when simply trying to have a cleaning... beware. Pay close attention to your bill as Imagix will attempt to charge you beyond what your insurance company authorizes. For example, my insurance statement clearly shows what was covered (the amount Imagix has agreed the insurance company will pay for a particular procedure) and what the patient may be charged. Imagix will consistently try to charge for the "Patient not responsible" portion of the bill. As this happens consistently, it doesn't appear to be a mistake. Avoid this place... there should be a "Zero Star" rating just for Imagix.

New to the area looking for a general dentist and reguar dental care. I have never been treated with such unprofessional care and clear disregard for common courtesy. It was almost like being lead to a slaughter house. From the receptionist to the hygenist and lastly the dentist himself are very unprofessional and rude and it is very obvious that they just want to make money and push as many patients through as they can. I do definitley not recommend this dentist. The people are unfriendly.

YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR SERVICES NOT RENDERED. I originally made an appointment with Imagix to get a replacement retainer. As part of this process, I was required to get panoramic x-rays. I paid $275 out of pocket for the appointment/retainer as insurance does not cover retainers. Had I never been back, I would have never been charged another cent. Instead, I foolishly supported the business again for a dental cleaning. As part of this cleaning, I got 4 bitewing x-rays. I told the hygienist I did not want to do panoramic again because I had it done 2 weeks prior. She agreed because insurance would not cover it, and the panoramic x-rays were not taken. However, Imagix submitted bitewing x-rays AND panoramic x-rays to my insurance (who would not cover it) and Imagix invoiced me for the balance. I had a follow up appointment to get a cavity filled (another story, but I had 2 visits and still need to see another dentist to get my tooth completely fixed due to poor workmanship) and I told the office personnel about the billing issue at the time. I was told they would "look into it" yet I never heard another word and got a SECOND invoice. After this, I wrote a letter and included supporting documentation (credit/debit card statements, etc.) and dropped off the package IN PERSON so I know they received it. I NEVER received ANY follow up and have now received a THIRD invoice. LESSON LEARNED. I will never visit Imagix again.

We appreciate your feedback, smrhymer. Our entire office team is committed to providing excellent patient care, and we value comments from our patients. We're interested in going over your concerns detailed in your review, but are unable to find you in our system under your Kudzu username. Please give our office a call at your earliest convenience.
Husband went in for a cleaning and checkup. They said he needed 5 fillings, a gum scaling and to come in every 3 months. They appear from other reviews to be big on the upsell. He was uncomfortable with the dentist, said he felt "shamed" about his teeth the whole time, and they didn't even do a cleaning! He asked and they just ignored his request. Also he was in there twice for over 2 hours getting these cavities filled. But it gets worse. They charged our credit card multiple times at one visit. They were trying to push an oral cancer screening - $65 out of pocket - which was immediately declined, but they went ahead and ran the credit card for it anyway WITHOUT telling him or giving him a receipt (he was told it was being run and got a receipt for the fillings only). When I called to ask them to refund the extraneous billing (which they admitted was extraneous) they said it would take 6-8 weeks to refund. There were some other insurance/billing related concerns that are still unresolved, but I will never spend money with this practice again.

I was 15 minutes late for appointment. They refused to see me, even though there was still 45 minutes reserved for my checkup and cleaning, no x rays needed. When I called back to reschedule they would not return my calls. I simply wanted to know if I am running late at what point do I not make appointment. I have been on time for every appointment for 4 years and spent $4,000.00 No more.

IMAGIX ORTHODONTICS had the absolute worst Billing and Accounts Department ever. Not only did they mislead me about the payments, but when I questioned it, they never returned my calls for years! First, they claimed if I paid my portion all upfront, I would be saving couple hundred dollars. Well, I did, but then years later, they came back saying I owed another $100.00 they didn't file all my claims in time before my insurance changed. I was told several times that someone would call me back to discuss this and nobody did. I did speak with one person, but again she told me that she would look into and call me back. NO ONE EVER CALLED ME BACK. After complaining to couple of my coworkers, this same thing happened to them. DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY IN ANY LOCATION!

I haven't been to this dentist in a year because I got fed up with the push to sell unneeded services and the incompetency of the staff to explain their billing. I have a great Dental Insurance Plan, but all too often I was paying out money over and above the agreed upon rates. My wife recently went in - they told her she needs a crown. Our insurance pays 60% and Imagix said our share would be $890 - that puts the total price at above $1400, which is very high for that crown. We switched dentists, and it is now going to cost us $450. When my wife went to sign her paperwork, she had to go behind the desk where they have a sign that reads "$650,000 ...we can make it!". That makes it a little obvious to me that they're pushing for something.

I went in for a recent dental hygiene visit, and I was pushed to buy products that I can purchase elsewhere for a cheaper price. I love the doctor, but the staff seems like they are overly worked to the point I was rushed through my entire visit. I feel like the staff is friendly, but they look like they always have so much going on! I don't know if I will go back or not. I have been with this practice for 3 years, and the turnover rate is absurd!

My kids and I have been going to Imagix for about two years now, mostly for routine preventative care. Until about 6 months ago, there did seem to be quite a bit of turnover and billing mixups. However, they've recently gotten a new doctor on staff, Dr. Aaron Johnson, and things seem to have turned around. I agree with other posters that it seemed like they were always trying to upsell, ie., Vizilite and Arestin, but that no longer seems to be the case. I am going soon for some long overdue dental work, and it's because I feel that comfort level with the current staff and Dr. Johnson. He is very friendly, professional and speaks to you in easy to understand terms. No one has tried to upsell me recently, and I especially enjoy the email and text notification reminders of my upcoming appointments. I'm on a very tight budget like the rest of America, so dental work is not very high on the list. I did lots of research, and it seems that often times, you get what you pay for. I need a couple of crowns, and Imagix's pricing seems to be in line with other dentists. The fact is that this type of work is just plain old EXPENSIVE and I want quality work at fair prices. I'll try to remember to update this review once my new smile is complete. The wait time is minimal and the dentists who work on my kids are always kid-friendly. They actually look forward to their dental checkups. Give Imagix a try..I think you will be pleased.

Had some problems with erroneous billing. Set up meeting with office manager but she was MIA when I arrived. Another woman helped to rectify the problem for me after about 40 minutes. There seems to be a lot of negative reviews for this organization, especially at locations that have been in business longer.

My reimbursement was almost entirely rejected by insurance due to services not indicated on secondary review. I had problems with billing subsequently. Apparently this happens to many of Imagix customers. Take it from me, avoid this practice. Read the reviews: "Do Not Use This Dental Group," "Terrible Staff," "Mess Your Smile and Face up With Attitude" "Do You Want to be Pressured to Overspend,""Scam, Avoid at All Cost,""Horrid Service and Billing" etc.

I recently switched to Imagix after bringing my children there for 4 years. It was the most comprehensive dental exam I have ever had by far. I left wondering why I had waiting so long to switch. I saw Aaron Johnson and found him to be delightful, knowledgable, and thorough. He explained all of dental work I will be needing over the next few years as well as the costs involved. They have been a pleasure to work with with every visit for both myself and my children. They have always be clear about what is covered by insurance and what my co-pay will be before I agree to any work. The only reason I gave them a 4 for value is the estimate for orthodontic work was twice the cost I payed 9 yrs ago at another orthodontist.

Having been a patient at this practice for the past few years, I've seen multiple new faces including new dentists and new dental hygienists. There seems to be a high turnover rate of staff. Just when you're used to a new dentist/hygienist, they have you see a new person without notice (until you're on the chair). This definitely will not be ideal for children who already are apprehensive about dental visits. They will more than likely see someone very often. At almost every visit, they will push for lots of services and products that are not covered by the insurance company (sometimes unnecessary when we sought 2nd opinions). When you decline, they make you feel bad without the understanding of your personal reasons. However, the dentists I've seen here in the past all have been overall professional and courteous. Too bad for one reason or another, they'd all leave. It says something about this practice. Somehow, their staff don't stay for long. They do have nice TV's, play areas for children, a nice facility. Unfortunately, that would not sell if the practice itself is horrible. Take your business elsewhere. There are better practices out there.

This place is miserable. They try to up-sell you every time you're there, and they do it to your kids when you're in the waiting room. I will never go back to this place. If you need a good orthodontist, go to Dr. Phelan in Buford- he's worth the drive!
