We had heard great things about this place, and showed up for Open Mic night. What a disappointment! The music is performed in an alley at the back. It was cold and raining, the only cover is plastic sheeting. The performers were terrible (apart from one act). A young girl boasted that she had trained as a singer for 6 years, then proceeded to murder "Bobby Magee" - the worst singing I have ever heard! The coffee was okay, nothing special. Restrooms are disgusting!! I will not be back!

Java Monkey combines a few of my favorite things: good coffee, good conversation, and good music. This is a chill place to do some work or catch up with friends. There are plenty of cozy places to sit, and tasty treats to order. The crowd that gathers here is awesome. I love the live acoustic music & wine selection.

Right in the heart of Decatur, the Java Monkey is a perfect hangout before or after dinner. It's a great place to meet up with friends or to relax with a date. The atmosphere is very casual but not uncomfortably so. The coffee and desserts are great.

This coffee shop is the perfect place to enjoy a cup of your favorite warm (or cold) beverage. The interior is an eclectic and artsy atmosphere. Prices are very reasonable and the staff are friendly and willing to help make a recommendation. Depending on when you go, this popular joint can get a little crowded.
