It would have been easy for Joe to cheat us, but he didn't. After Midas told us our car needed a new AC compressor (for $1200), we took the car to Joe's on the advice of a friend. Best advice ever! We told Joe what Midas had said, and even had him give us estimates for new and rebuilt compressors (much lower than the Midas price). However, after we brought the car in, Joe called to say the car didn't need a compressor--all it needed was a healthy shot of freon. So we paid $67 (instead of $1200), and the car is blowing ice cold. The point is, Joe had every opportunity to take us for a MUCH larger repair bill, since we believed the car needed a new compressor, but he didn't. His honesty really, really impressed us, and we will be going to Joe from now on! This kind of honesty is so rare in the automotive repair world these days, and we really would like to see Joe rewarded for it!
