This beer garden is unique, it was not what I expected but I was pleasantly surprised. The Japanese garden was peaceful a nice oasis in the middle of a busy commercial concrete jungle. The beer was consistently great as expected the brewery offers a wide blend of beers to please any San Diego beer connoisseur. Karl Strauss's food is tasty but I fear that the ingredients may not be as high-quality, I would suggest to bring it up a notch by focusing on using more organic and local quality ingredients. I certainly loved the Ahi Nachos appetizer. Keep up the good work and keep improving the menu. This is now one of my favorite microbreweries and I've visited many across the country. The brews are consistently great, and they're not afraid to experiment. One of my favorites is the Red Trolley. Cheers Everyone.

Because of the scenery (garden, giant pond with turtles and coi) it is by far the best karl strauss here in san diego. They also good brunch and a unique place for a small wedding.

It was so noisy (we had to sit inside, no room outside) that we had to shout to be heard. We had to beg the waiter to take our order. The wine (I know, don't order wine) was awful. I sent it back but was charged for it anyway. We were charged 18% for a tip when I wouldn't have given him that much. The service stunk. Is it too much to ask that fish and chips not drip of stale grease, and that there is actual tartar sauce, not some awful concoction with capers?

I've eaten here twice and have been pleasantly pleased by the food offerings here. Of course hubby goes for the beer, but I don't drink it so the food's important for me. Worth a try.

There are not many sit down restaurants in Sorrento Valley. Karl Strauss is a large restaurant with a diverse menu and fairly reasonable prices. I would not drive out of my way to eat there, but if you are stuck in Sorrento Valley at lunch time, it's a good place.

i love karl strauss beer. the happy hour is great but anytime is good for the beer. my favorite, Downtown After Dark. it's seasonal, but worth the wait.also, make sure to try the tomato bisque, i could live on that and the beer and be happy.

Great food. There is a nice Koi Pond outside that you can site near. Very relaxing. Seared Ahi is the best. Get the Seared Ahi salad. Beer is the best! Good place to have a company happy hour too.

You can not go wrong with anything you order here! We go here all the type with my work and they are constantly changing their menu to serve whatever is in season. The food is clean and fresh and tastes delish! Try the En Fuego burger...trust me, you'll be glad you odered it (it's not as hot as you mat think)!

I've been here a ton of times for corporate happy hours. I've never actually had to pay for a meal here, so I'll refrain from commenting on price. The food is good, and they have a great beer selection. Most importantly, they usually give out free beer samples in the evening! Not only is it a great way to sample their beers, it's a great way to get a bunch of free beer, if you have some non-drinkers in your group (just have them grab a sample and give it to you!). The place is always pretty crowded due to it's close proximity to so many businesses. Parking can be a pain.

I work very near this restaurant, and so many, many of us from the office tend to end up there for various events. Its beautiful to walk over the bridge to the front doors, and to eat on the patios over the large pond. They offer a wide selection of items (wider than you would think), and are very friendly and professional. Its a great place for a casual party or just a dinner and drinks.
