The atmosphere of Kaya is terrific, not your typical restaurant setting, with a Meditteranean feel. Drink selection was extensive. Food was amazing with a variety of tastes and flavors, though a little expensive for quantity of food. Overall though, I will return.

If you like Caribbean food, in Pittsburgh, Kaya is a must visit. From the outside, it looks like you're entering a thatched hut on an island. From the inside, it's got that down home island feel, with a very unique menu. Definitely try the Jerk Chicken wings from the tapas menu, and the hot black bean dip. A Kaya house salad with lime cilantro vinaigrette is perfect at lunch, with one of Kaya's soups. Once you try it, you'll be back again and again, and the Jerk martini is nice after work. :) The only area that could stand improvement is service, which can be really good or sporadic, depending on the time and day. Otherwise, it's a great find in the Strip District.
