We used Kenneth Axt many years ago to paint our house. They did a wonderful job at a reasonable cost. It's several years later and from invoice on the 1st job to the estimate on this one? A 75% increase. It's the same house! Other estimates from 2 other companies? 60-70% of what Axt wanted to charge (includes the same estimated carpentry work). I'm confused. I had to go with a different company this time around. I paid $2400 less for a higher grade of paint. What happened? I hope it works itself out for them because I liked working with them back in the day. What a shame.
Couldnt bring myself to spend nearly twice as much for the same job several years ago
Area Acworth, GA
Cost $5,000 - $9,999
Date June 2016

We went with Axt painting, not because they were inexpensive because they were actually the highest quote we received, but because we thought we would get what we were quoted. I had to be out there with them everyday, pointing out mistakes from day one. They started caulking before pressure washing and it went down hill (as I said, everyday) from there. I was shocked at the workmanship and even had the owner out one day, he walked the property with me and said my concerns were legit but he didn't do anything that changed the process of the work. As the review prior to me stated from JayMajor, I had a very similar experience. I felt as if I had my son's junior high school friends out there with paint brushes and had to constantly tell them what needed to be done. I was also informed by the young man (21 years old) that was in charge of the crew, that he does get a commission if the work is completed quickly. Not a good incentive. How about you get a commission if the work is done properly and the homeowner is happy. It has been 9 months and my caulk has already broken away from the house, the windows were never cleaned (as was stated on my quote), the paint job is so-so. I really could go on and on (I did keep a daily journal of all the issues, it's rather long) about all the problems I had, suffice to say, go with someone else and save yourself stress and money.

expect to have to stay on them the whole time. the quality was a C The service was a D DO NOT GET THE WARRANTY! Complete rip off! They'll send somebody nice over to quote the work and then dump illegal immigrants at your house to do spotty work. Expect to have to pull the quote out and go over it again and again. Clean the gutters out? If you point out that they did NOT clean them out! Quote said they'd put pro-seal on the gutters. They didn't. There were a few vines on the side of my house, the quote said "Pull down vines and paint" Or just paint the vines? Yes, they painted the vines! Put stuff back on your deck? Not if they have the check in hand? Tried to get them to come back, just ignored me. Their water pressure pump leaked gas on my yard and killed the grass. They charged way too much for carpentry work. They'll say yes to everything and then not do it. Pass on these shysters

I received nothing but top notch professional service from the time I spoke with the office staff to schedule service to the completion of the job. Kenneth Axt and Associates showed integrity and honesty in all they did. They made me feel safe and glad that I had chosen them. I will most definitely use them again in the future.

I paid for siding on chimney to be replaced & painting. Siding wasn't replaced and now black mold is growing and they want me to pay again to have it fixed. This job was done 6 months ago. I went through Trust Dale and even they haven't responded.

I called Kenneth Axt & Assoc after finding them in Trust Dale Service Guide. The rep answering the phone interrogated me endlessly asking in minute detail what I wanted painting. I had to go over and over it again, repeatedly telling her I wanted to pressure wash my home, paint & stain 2 decks, paint the exterior of a screened porch (14 x 18 ft), 3 interior walls of the porch and get a quote for a finished basement. I told her I wasn't sure if I would do the basement, depended on the quote. The whole conversation felt very uncomfortable, like I was on a job interview and was being assessed worthy or good enough. The conversation ended with her saying "David would give me a call." With no scheduled appt for an estimate, I was supposed to just sit around and wait for a call. Within 5 minutes, the same rep called back saying my job wasn't big enough, that they were busy with whole house jobs and if I wanted them, I would have to wait until Fall. Today is May 15th. This is one of the most arrogant companies I've ever dealt with. When most of the Home Report magazines are delivered, unrequested, in my mailbox, I normally toss them out because this is what you typically get. Once a company gets into one of the magazines, like "Trust Dale" they become popular and unless you have a mansion or a HUGE job, they are too good for your lowly pittance of a job.

We recently had the exterior trim and siding painted along with gutter replacement. Ken did the quote which was very detailed. Thanks to Harold and David for the great job on our house. It looks like new again. They even came back to do any touch up that we found after they finished. We felt secure in having them work on our house. We will use Kenneth Axt again in the future.

We had the interior of our home painted by Kenneth Axt Painting and we were very satisfied with the workmanship. Estimate was same as several other estimates we received. We chose Kenneth Axt based on recommendation from co-worker as well as their involvement with the Better Business Bureau. One of our primary concerns was the preparation for painting to ensure furniture, floors, etc. were protected. Everything in the house was covered in plastic by the painters; no drips, splatters, or spills anywhere. Work was completed quicker than estimated time we were given. Paint job looks great; very even throughout the house and very straight edges. We would highly recommend Kenneth Axt to our friends and we will definitely be using them again for all of our painting needs.

We had Kenneth Axt paint the exterior of our house in preparation for putting the house on the market. He was clearly told that the house would need to pass a house inspection. Numerous areas of wood rot around the windows were pointed out to him. From the beginning their communication was extremely poor. They did not start when they said that they would and never called to say that the rain had delayed them on other jobs. They agreed to replace a window and gave us a date that it would be replaced. That day came and went and no call was made by them. We had to constantly follow up with them and it ultimately was about six weeks before they finally got it ordered and installed. They did not repair many of the instances of wood rot. The house failed inspection and we had to call him back 4 times and they never did get it right. Throughout the repeated attempts to do the job we contracted for, Kenneth's only concern was how much it was going to cost him. Never once was his concern about the shoddy work his carpenters had done. We would never use him again and strongly recommend others to not use him.

We feel this was a very unfair and inaccurate report. This was a previous customer that called for help because he was selling his house. An overly aggressive home inspector had listed numerous carpentry pieces to be addressed. Kenneth, owner of company, agreed that in order to save money that certain areas were to be replaced and some made funcational with epoxy. The inspector's second inspection was done with a knife-digging out epoxyed areas and failing these areas again. Again an overly aggressive inspection-we returned a second and third time. The customer through-out process was not responsive to our phone calls. Upon completion, we believed that the homeowner was satisfied and were surprised to read their review on this site. We made every attempt to satisfy this customer.
They are a great company to paint your home. They were priced best over three other quotes. Provided immediate service and did a great job on painting our home. They made sure all of our wood repairs were done before painting and followed up with a courtesy call. Would highly recommend them!
