I began eating here in 2005. Vreny's was FANTASTIC German food. Having eaten German food many times in Germany I was impressed with how authentic the cuisine was and would happily make the 20+ mile trip to eat there. After they combined Vreny's with Kurt's they began playing with the menu and I guess tried to make the German food more "American." I visited there late in 2008 and was disappointed that the weinerschnitzel no longer came with the brown sauce and was told next time to order it that way. SO, last night was that next time and may I add, FINAL time I will ever eat there. The steak my husband ordered was about the size of a waffle house portion and 1/2 of it was charred so bad he couldn't eat it. The salad that was supposed to come with the meal never did (until he asked about it after the main course was served). The weinerschnitzel was awful. They have begun using panko bread crumbs giving the meal an entirely NON-German flavor. The sp tzle was mushy, and the brown sauce was ok. Then the shock came, 2 horrid dinners and 1 beer= $47! Next time I will stay home if I want German food. Harry's and other stores sell the sp tzle you can boil (and is Very good) and you can buy the meat at any store, pound it thin and coat it with bread crumbs, fry it up, and have a more tasty and inexpensive dinner! I'm very saddened by how this restaurant has turned out. It USED to be absolutely delicious and if they don't do something soon no one'll eat there! I know I'm not going back

Had a great dining experience at Kurt's last night. So much better then the corporate owned restaurants scattered about. I had a great meal, great service and a fun time to boot!

About 2 years ago, I ate at Kurt's & loved it. This visit, I could not believe that I was at the same restaurant. Due to the reasons below, nobody should ever eat at this restaurant, unless they need a good reason to call in sick to work. * Sanitation: - we found the food inspection report of a B-87% - mostly due to time and temperature issues and not cleaning produce - these lead to food poisoning. The previous rating was an 86 - not much of an improvement. * Bad service: - waited 5 minutes to be acknowledged at door - waited 45 minutes at table to order food - waitress forgot our drinks 4 times - never got the free birthday dessert, as promised - waitress had an attitude and was very slow - were not thanked for dining at the restaurant upon departure * Availability of menu: - ran out of 2 types of beer that we ordered - tiny liquor selection even though they claim to have a full bar - ran out of giant pretzel appetizer - almost no wine selection by the glass * Food quality: -Chicken Schnitzel was bland & not pounded thin at all - Spaetzle was bland - Everything else was overly coated with a poultry seasoning-very strange * Look & Feel: - tasteless 1980's posters everywhere, including men's restrooms. - There was a combination of rotten cheese and body odor smells - Temperature was about 90 degrees with no circulation

Had dinner there with a group last night! Being German, I expect it to be somewhat authentic. The entire meal was VERY disappointing. Veal Jaegerschnitzel was small piece, very dry, overcooked and camoflagued with mushy breading. It cost $21.00! The red cabbage was soggy, no flavor, bland!! The "german pasta" spaetzle tasted like it was soaked in water for a week, no flavor! OVERPRICED AND NOT AUTHENTIC. The wait staff could care less if you are satisfied. I drove 40 miles one way to meet friends and enjoy the food. Enjoyed the friends but the food was not worth it!! I cannot recommend this "German" restaurant. By the way, the strudel was cold and the coffee arrived cold, nothing to rave about.

Having eaten at Kurt's ,and recommending them, for many years we have noticed over several visits that service is declining. Last night was the worst. The waiter rarely checked on us and after waiting close to an hour we flagged him down to ask how much longer it would be till we received our food. Not long after the food came, one dish was cold and the others should signs of sitting under a heat lamp. The thing that really disappointed us was the response of management. There were more excuses then anything such as they had a rehearsal dinner going on and it is not unusual to wait an hour at German restaurants. Being German i can tell you that this is not true and in the past this was not the case at Kurt's. Had this been an isolated incident we would have written it off but this seems to be a frequent experience for us. They did replace the cold meal and comp it but people skills are not what Kurt or the management excel at As for the quality of the food it has been better in the past.

If you are looking for "true" German food look no further than Kurt's. The menu has a wide variety of German standards that are cooked to perfection. If you like German wine Kurt's has an extensive wine list as well.

My husband & I celebrated our anniversary having dinner at Kurt's Restaurant and it was truly a special evening. The meal was wonderful and the atmosphere perfect. We had a cozy little table where we could talk and enjoy each other without feeling closed in by other guests. The waiter was very professional and pleasant. We will dine again and again at Kurt's!

Owner was rude. Service was outrageous. Waiter didn't pay sligh attention. I order a glass of beer when I drink it up waiter came and took it didn't even ask if I want another one. Selection of the menu was not that big. Compare to other German restaraunt that I been it is overpriced and food is not that good for that price. I was really disapointed. I wanted to relax and enjoy the evening, but instead we wanted to get out of there ASAP.

I didn't know there was such a thing a great german food, but this place shows just how upscale and good german food can be. You pay for what you get, but it is well worth it. Found a coupon for a free apetizer in the gwinnett county tourism booklet.
