This gym has gotten rather ragged around the edges in recent years. I guess they're tightening their belts like everyone else, which is to be expected, but this becomes a problem when it affects the cleanliness of the gym, which it certainly has. There used to be a person on staff who cleaned several hours of the day, but there is never anyone cleaning there anymore--EVER!! The locker room truly is an armpit--it STINKS, and just reeks of FILTH. I never, ever see anyone wiping anything down, and there is most certainly a problem with recurring bouts of STAPH INFECTION with the members here. I have talked with so many people there who have contracted staph, and I also worked for a doctor's office for a couple of years where we would get approx. 180 cases of staph per year where the only common denominator was A MEMBERSHIP AT THIS LOCATION!!! I reported it to them at the local and corporate level, and was completely brushed off. They didn't want to hear about it, and just told me they had no obligation to track the number of cases of staph that their members reported. I would never join this gym knowing what I know, and seeing what I see, but as I've said, it's very convenient and cheap. I DO believe that I am immune to staph, because it seems that everyone I know personally who works out there has had it at least once. I would highly recommend wearing clothing that covers you well, and don't work out with open sores or cuts.

Nicely kept gym. The staff is EXCELLENT. Yes of course they try to get you to spend more money than you should at sign-up, but when you are at the gym and you have any questions regarding working out at ALL, they IMMEDIATELY come up to you and help. They will spend AMPLE time making sure you understand how to do your routine, even without paying for a personal trainer. Love the people here, hate the price.

When you sign up, they lay the butter on thick. "No contract! Easy to cancel your membership!" They told me all I had to do to cancel was go on their website and cancel. COMPLETE LIE. In order to cancel, you have to mail in a form and it has to get to them 20 days prior to your next bill. Guess what the form involves? Writing your email address down. That's all. Obviously a just a nasty stall tactic to help them get ONE MORE BILL out of you. When I called this location where I signed up to express my distaste, they didn't say anything. Seriously-silence on the other end of the phone. Would not even give me a verbal response.

Like every other L.A. Fitness it has everything you need and more for a good workout. Staff is very friendly and helpful, and the gym is well organized and not too overcrowded. Steep sign up fees are its only downfall.

The gym itself is nice. It's crowded sometimes but a nice and clean place to work out. The equipment isn't as new as it is some other places but it's in good shape and of good quality. I think LA Fitness as a corporation is big on high pressure sales. I dont think the employees neccessarily like it- but they do it because they're told to. That's the impression I get anyway. I havent tried to cancel yet- I suspect I will soon though because the gym at my apartments works fine and is always empty. I've heard horror stories about trying to end the membership but can't comment on that yet.

The staff is really friendly and the equipment is in good shape. It's always crowded at the peak times (which is good or bad depending on your viewpoint). I can't vouch for the membership complaints below but get the membership that works at all the gyms so you can find the one that works for you.

I cancelled my membership due to this location being really unclean. I heard of many people that got staph infections from using sweaty gross equipment. This location smells worse than any other. NEVER AGAIN!

I paid for 1 year membership up-front. Three days before the end of the term I paid $35 to freeze the membership for six-months. This guarantees the low renewal rate. Later, when I return to reactivate and renew, they said the six-month freeze option was no longer honored and I had to renew at the regular rate ($200 more)! They would not even refund my $35. What a cheat. Now I drive much further to another gym rather then stay with LA Fitness. Don't be fooled.

I called to ask the simple question: "Do you have a month-to-month membership plan?" THE PRESSURE WAS ON! Blood was in the water and the sharks were circling. Rather than simply answering the question, I was subjected to the all-out, no-holds-barred sales pitch of the century. How disgusting! How rude! I refuse to deal with the hard sell. La Fitness lost me as a member right from the start.

I enjoy the gym, but there is nothing particularly special about it. They have decent class offerings, but change their schedule often as far as which instructors are teaching the class. The instructors really make or break the class and while I have no problems with them on a personl level, they can lead very monotonous classes that do not at all vary from week to week. Also, they don't offer classes as often as I would like, which makes it hard to find ones that fit with you schedule. I would definately recommend a trial membership(as opposed to a committed one) where you can experience all the classes that you would take on a regular basis.

Not as nice as the Midtown location, but this one is not bad at all! I find it can get a little hot, and it's more crowded during after work hours, but that's to be expected.

This isn't the Buckhead one it's the Ansley one. Most times that I have gone there is little to no wait for cardio equipment even during the 5pm hour. The locker rooms and showers are clean and spacious. Also the location is convenient if you want to stop at the grovery store before heading home.

Affordable - but recognize at peak times there can be a wait for key machines - mostly the cardiovascular machines. I got at off hours and it works out perfectly as it is not as busy as key times. Overall, a good value. Plus, you can go to any LA fitness in the city, so if you travel around it can be convenient.
