We needed to get our fireplace cleaned and the damper would not shut tight. We called around to the big companies and I got really high estimates to clean the fireplace and the vague "we'll determine what else needs fixing". Based on the kudzu ratings I called LM Richardson. He showed up on time, charged 60% of what the other guys quoted and fixed the damper for free. I must say its heartening that there are honest and trustworthy businesses like this around nowadays.

Called to make an appointment. The workers came to clean the chimney as scheduled. Staff was very professional and informative. I was pleased with the level of service. Highly recommend.

We asked for an inspection and cleaning if needed. He arrived on time, inspected the chimney and said it was in good shape. He wasn't trying to sell us something we didn't need.

Like many others, I had the same $7,500 quote from another less reputable chimney sweep. After others told me that I was being mislead, I decided to seek a 2nd opinion. LM Richardson arrived on time and completed their work quickly and cleanly. Most importantly they gave our chimney a clean bill of health. We can now enjoy our fireplace over the holidays with confidence. High highly recommend LM Richardson.

We hired Mad Hatter to clean and inspect the chimney in a house we purchased over the summer. They told us it was a fire hazard and would cost $7500 to repair. We called LM Richardson because of all the great reviews on Kudzu. Glad we did--he saved us from needlessly spending $7500 with Mad Hatter. He told us how to replace our chimney cap ourselves, but we are happy to have him do it for us at his reasonable rates!

I have used them previously & found them to be dependable & thorough. However the owners daughter recently cleaned my chimney & she needs additional training. She is very abrupt, didn't remember to check chimney on roof and fee was too high.

After working for a few hundred Kudzu customers over the last number years and 50 some positive reviews, this is our first unfavorable one. I apologize for the misunderstanding with this customer but wish that before writing a review like this or even if he wasn't going to write a review, he would have called us so that we could have made right whatever it was that he was unhappy with. Most customers want us to fix a perceived problem or at least want me to come out and make sure the service was done properly. I will always come out and inspect our work for free, make sure it was done properly or do the work over for free and if the customer has expectations that we cannot fulfill, give them a full refund. Which happened to me on a sweep I did recently when the husband came home from work expecting to see all of the smoke stain removed from inside the fireplace, so it looked new. It can't be done without putting in new brick. Sometimes a roof is so dangerous, so steep or wet after a rain that we cannot get on it without coming back with more help or when the roof is dry. (Which we do for free.) It kind of sounds like this is what the misunderstanding was about. We just don't know who this person is or what the misunderstanding was really about but everyone that works for this company is being or has been trained properly. Our other reviews say that we show up on time, are honest and good at what we do. Please read our fifty other reviews to confirm this.

They did a great job but their price was a little higher than I would have liked. I guess you have to pay for quality but I still think they should have given me a discount.

I thank you for your comments. We have always tried to give the best service possible at a reasonable price and stand behind everything we do. Our office is in Decatur. In those areas like Kennesaw, Roswell, Alpharetta, Loganville, where it often takes us an hour to get to and an hour to return from, because of the increased traffic over the years and the time it takes us to get there and back, this year we have had to start charging a little more than to those customers closer to us. If not we just could not service these areas any more. Even so we have been told by those who have shopped around (and we encourage everyone in these areas to shop around) that our prices are lower than those companies based in these areas. With traffic the way it has become, some customers even further out that we used to service, we are no longer able to service. LM Richardson, Owner
I made my appointment for a chimney cleaning and inspection. We had birds in our chimney over the summer and were concerned about the waste. Mr. Richardson and his assistant arrived very promptly for our appointment. He suggested we get a chimney cap to avoid birds in the future. He told me how to save $100 by getting one at a home improvement store and installing myself. I was beyond appreciative. Plus, he suggested I don't need to have my chimney cleaned often at all based on the levels of build-up in our chimney. I've never heard that before - from others, the suggestions were 'once a year'. Overall, I was truly impressed with the honesty of this business. They were very clean and respectful of my home. I would hire them again in a second... and will the next time we need our chimney cleaned!

This is the second time that I've used their services. They are quick, timly and efficient. Plus, chimney cleaning is dirty work and I've never had a problem with my carpets!

The bricks on the back of my fireplace needed new cement. He thought it would be about $200 in work. When he returned on the scheduled visit and performed the work, he said it turned out that it was less work than he originally thought and only charged me $99! He could have easily charged me the $200 and I would have had no idea. I'd recommend them to anyone.

I wish i had found Richardson first. I wasted money with those other guys and the wanted $3400+ for work that did not need to be done. I'm telling all my neighbors to use Richardson because he is honest and even arrived right on time.

After pricing around for a certified chimney sweep and Duct cleaning co. I settled on LM Richardon. They had the best price for what I wanted done. The gentleman was 5 minutes early, he took his time to educate me on duct cleaning. I was provided with a crash course on the Do's and Don't on Chimneys air Ducts. I have no complaints, an excellent job was done for a reasonable price.

We were very satisfied with the service we received from A Certified Chimney Sweep. Mr. Richarson was scheduled between 12-2. He called at 12:00 to say he would be there at 1:00 and arrived at 1:00 on the nose. He was very helpful and curteous and answered all my questions. We had our chimney cleaned and very happy with the service we received.

How wonderful to find someone you can trust! Mr. Richardson came out to clean my dryer vent and clean my chimney. They were ontime (how rare is that?) and told me my chimney was fine, it did not need cleaning. I will definitely use them again!

Two very polite chimney cleaners took about an hour to clean our chimney, very neat, got the job done efficiently, very hard-working. am recommending them to my neighbors.
