The drinks are great, the food is creative and delicious, the desserts are very good. The attention to taste and beauty when it comes to what they are serving is outstanding. Now for the bad news, the service was the worst I have ever experienced! It was slow to the point of being non-existent for about 30 minutes after we were seated. The orders were confused and it was a challange to get what you asked for. Once we were served (three in our party) correctly....the food was great! Even though I remember the food fondly, I have never gone back. My time is too precious to wait so long!

My friend ordered the Cuatro Leches, which was an extremely large serving. It was very rich but had an excellent flavor. He was able to finish it on his own, but it could have easily been split between 4 people. I ordered the 3 profiteroles, which were also very tasty. The 'gelato' tasted more like ice cream, but it was fine. The serving size was also very large. I ate 1.5, and I couldn't finish the rest. The presentation was absolutely beautiful. Impressive selection. However, I had to give it 3 stars, because our service was so lackluster. Our waiter basically ignored us the entire night. He took our order, and it took over 20 minutes for it to be brought out, whereas the table next to us ordered the same thing, and it was brought out within 5 minutes. It took us another 30 minutes after we were finished eating for him to bring our check. Our water glasses were never refilled after they were initally brought to the table. I understand that he might have felt that he didn't stand to earn a bigger tip from us, since we just ordered dessert, but we waited until after 8 to go, so we wouldn't inconvenience the dinner crowd. He could have earned his tip by treating us with the same concern that he did the four top next to us. Waiting half an hour for a check during a slower time was a bit ridiculous.

As delicious as the displays of desserts are when you first step in the moodlit dining room and bar area of La Duni, you will rarely find yourself able to tackle them after a meal. The "rest" of the food is undeniably delicious and more than enough food. The atmosphere is always condusive to a wonderful experience and the joy is unmistakably felt by all. A personal favorite of mine.

I love this restaurant. For brunch. For dinner. For lunch. For intimate dinners with the wife. For getting together with friends. The South American flair is everywhere--the waitstaff, the drinks (Caipirinhas, anyone?), the food. It is a quality endeavor from a husband and wife duo who know what it means to solve the world's problems at the dinner table.

One of the best restaurants around. Unique dishes. Charming atmosphere. Wonderful desserts and coffees. Excellent brunch. Tip: Call ahead and get your name on this list--this place fills us fast, but is well worth the wait. You won't be disappointed. PROS: Unique latin dishes CONS: Sometimes a long wait

I LOVE Mediterranean food, so I was excited when La Duni opened its doors. I have been there in groups of 4 several times, and in a larger group once. In the larger group, the service was even more horrendous, with the orders not being taken until we had been there for over 45 minutes. After we had paid the bill for our party, which was over $300, one of the people in our party did not know the bill had been paid and the waitress had NEVER gone around the table and asked if anyone wanted desserts or coffee. She ordered a coffee and they brought her a separate check for the coffee!! Also, even though I speak Spanish, I usually don't do so to waitstaff, etc., because I don't want to be patronizing to people who have jobs in the United States. But the poor girl who waited on the large party had about a 30% command of the English language so I chimed in to help her. They are probably hiring illegals. The horrible service ruins the potential of the food so I don't go there anymore after 3-4 good faith tries.
