I purchased my first home in Late 2008. I was forced to use LandAmerica as the seller required it. My escrow officer and her assistant were both rude and snooty through the entire process. When I had general questions they would act as if I was questioning their ability to do their job and constantly gave me the run around. Hello, this is my money here, and I do work in the finance field, so it is not as if I am totally clueless here. On the day of signing I brought my mom who is an experienced home buyer. Come to find out that the assistant had not made the proper changes to the closing statement and then proceeded to argue with me and my mom on the day of signing. The escrow officer tried to come in behind her and put the blame on me when she was never there for the original conversation. I was insulted and appalled at the lack of professionalism demonstrated by every person I dealt with in this office. If I ever buy a property again and the seller requires LandAmerica as escrow I will find a new property to purchase. I cried that day, and they were not tears of joy.
