This woman (dr. And owner of Lost Mountain Animal) saw my dog for many years and kept saying she had an upset stomach and was charging me $400 for an over-the-counter Prilosec like medicine that she injected her with every time I went to her and also ran many blood tests that cost hundreds of dollars. The fact that she was charging me $400 for a liquid version of an antacid was verified by the second vet that I took my dog to have my dog put to sleep due to the negligence of Lost Mountain Animal yes! I had to put my dog to sleep. My dog had became gravely ill and all I was offered by Lost Mountain Animal was more blood test and this "dr" got very nasty with me that from Mountain animal hospital said there was nothing wrong with my dog, meanwhile my while my dog was dying. On other occasions when I brought my dog there this vet had been glassy eyed and very out of it couldn't remember that she saw me the day before and what we talked about. This woman is all about the money. She makes all of her money by running tests, tests and more tests. You never see her actually treat the dog. FAIR WARNING. Stay away from this woman, she will let your animal die, she is out of it.

I've been taking my animals here for years, and they have always been very nice but they are a little on the high price side of things , but i still wouldn't go somewhere else because I trust them

We took our dog here for reoccurring skin infections and after 5 or 6 visits, we quit feeling frustrated, robbed, and our dog was still having skin infections. They are definitely after your money! They did a lot of testing that seemed unnecessary and wouldn't tell us the cost until it was time to pay. I complained about this too, so you'd think they would be more upfront with me. But the final straw was when my husband took our dog in for a recheck and ear infection with instructions from me for no skin testing! So they did testing on her ears and charged us $100 to tell us she had an ear infection- no kidding, it was red and obvious! And pointless.. they didn't treat the ear infection because she was already on antibiotics and their "testing" didn't include a culture. We got much better results at the next place we went and now have a dog with clear skin. My sister-in-law also got a quote for teeth cleaning from here and took her dog somewhere else for half the cost. Just skip this place, I wish we had!

Some vets go into their profession for the right reasons. This is NOT one of those vets!!! I ended up going to a better vet and we had to put our dog down the day after this clown looked at her and prescribed tummy meds! Not even CLOSE to the problem she had. I went in because I could not make it into my normal vet at Bartow Animal hospital because it is 45 min away from my home. BIG mistake! She was so far off and gave very little thought when I told her that it was not a stomach bug but more of a choking. My dog was sick for two days choking and throwing up. She barely examined her. I never even saw her touch my dog. She just gave her a shot, soft food and some stomach pills. I told her that she was choking and that was what was causing her to throw up and she seemed disinterested in what I was telling her. She charged us $300 and gave us a list of other tests that we could do if we wanted to come back and pay her another $650. We left and my golden proceeded to choke and throw up all night. We took her up first thing in the am to our regular vet who is amazing and he said she had a severe problem with her esophagus. I called for her to refund my bill partially and she said she was sorry but could not do that and gave me some bs about declining another test that was to test her thyroid. Not even close! If you love your pets, skip this Place!

We have been clients of LMAH for over 9 years. We have used other Vets in the past but we are very pleased with the quality of service our 6 dogs and 2 cats have been given. When 3 of our pets died, we couldn't have had better care of them - arranging for their final needs and comforting us on our loss will never be forgotten. Our dogs are family -- we are responsible for taking care of them to the best of our ability and LMAH gives our pets the best care!

I have been taking my pets to Lost Mountain Animal Hospital since 2005. The Doctors there are very knowledgeable. I dont always have the funds to do everything they recommend, but I love that they always give me prices, and discuss treatment before they do anything. The staff members are always understanding and take great care of my pets!

We've been taking our dogs and cats to Dr. Newsome for 14 years. Like most vets, the price of care is sometimes expensive, but you get what you pay for because the service is excellent, the staff is friendly, grooming is great, and everyone who works there seems to genuinely care about the animals at the hospital.

My appointment was at 10 am which made me late for work to start with. Then, I didn't even see the Dr. till after 11:30! They put me in this little room and a tall woman came in with a price list with 2 columns for me to sign. I hadn't even talked to the Dr., but when I insisted, Dr. Newsom finally came in. She couldn't answer any of my questions, just kept pushing me to sign their price sheet and leave my cat. I signed the sheet, left my cat and paid her all the $$$ she asked for. After 24 hours, my cat was no better and when I called Dr. Newsom, they wouldn't let me talk to her and said I'd need another appointment! I took my sick cat to another clinic, paid 1/5 of what I paid Lost Mountain and Dr. Newsom and now my cat is fine. This place in only interested in your $$$$$.

I brought my 9-year old lab here due to a lump on her stomach that started bleeding. A nurse examined her and then brought her in the back to trim her nails, where apparently the vet also looked her over. When the nurse returned, a woman I hadn't met accompanied her and without introduction looked at me and bluntly said "three to four." I didn't realize at the time it was Dr. Suzanne Newsom or understand what she meant. The nurse just said "I'm very sorry." Sorry for what? Very matter-of-factly, and still without introducing herself, Dr. Newsom said "three to four days." I asked her to explain and still without any emotion Dr. Newsom said "that she will live." I was stunned and started crying at which time she finally explained there was an erupted tumor and I could either bring her home to wait or I could have her put down. It was surreal that my dog was about to die and this woman was delivering the news to me in this unbelievable manner. The nurse told me they required payment prior to the procedure and when I asked if they could hold my check 3 days until my paycheck was deposited (as it was very expensive) Dr. Newsom told her to tell me to come back at that time. I called and borrowed a friend's credit card but unsurprisingly Newsom never came back in or offered any condolences afterward for my loss. There is something horribly wrong with this woman and this clinic.

I started with this clinic in 1998 and they were wonderful to deal with. Prices were reasonable the care and attention my pets got was personal and great. I stayed with the clinic after it was sold, carried my pets there, and adopted three kittens. One of the adopted kittens (I was told) was a neutered male and I paid the adoption fee for the kitten with the neutering and the record clearly shows that it was neutered. I even called back once to inquire as HE was walking around yowling loudly every four or five weeks and the records were checked and I was told yes HE was a neutered male and probably just confused. HE had two kittens last week and when I called the vet about this and she finally called me back, she told me to stop calling there and that she was not responsible for what people who were no longer there had told me when I adopted the kitten. I had changed vets about a year and a half ago because of what I felt were inflated pricing and after my conversation today realize I made the right choice in changing. Very disappointed in this attitude after my many years of being a client trusting them with my little animals - I am no vet but I do think there is a difference in a male and female cat.

I couldn't ask for a better office. Dr. Newsome is great! The staff members are all very friendly and professional. They never do anything without your permission. Every visit starts with a care plan so that you know what will happen to your animal. Did I mention The care plan includes the prices of every service, so there are no surprises when it comes time to pay. I will always take my animals here.!

I took my 3 year old dog for an annual exam and shots, and a new puppy for a first exam and shots, and paid over $400! That is FOUR times what the bill should have been. They were nice enough to the puppy, but they tried to make me feel guilty for not feeding my dog Iams (but they stopped pretty quick when I pointed out that my 'inferior' dog food was not on the list of food that caused kidney failure last year, and Iams was). You can get VERY good care at a vet that will be good to you, your pet, and your wallet. I don't know why they clearly treat some people very well, and others not well at all, but please notice that there are no 'ok' reviews here, only love or hate.

I can't believe anyone with pets would go anywhere else! Dr. Newsom is so nice and explains everything. My cat was very sick and had not been eating or going in the litterpan and Dr. Newsom worked out a way to take care of her even though I didn't have a lot of money. ALl the employees there really care and are very friendly. I have told all my friends to take their pets there!
