Our son attended Lyrics for 2 years and it was a sad day to move on but he made amazing friends and it was great to see him develop socially there. It was an experience for him well beyond your average daycare with all sorts of interesting critters, planting vegaetables and their healthy and fun group meals. Jeane and Tin-lok are awesome and really build a community with the group that gets people back even after their kids have moved on.

I was at the end of my rope searching for a daycare when I moved to San Diego and thanks my lucky stars I found them through a referral...they totally came through a day before I started my new job. I was nervous at the thought of a home daycare, as many are, but my fears quickly were put to rest by the constant text and facebook photo's I get throughout the day. I love that there is plenty of outdoor playtime, art, gardening, science etc that keeps my crazy energetic monster engaged at all times. The only downfall is how much they are closed and that you pay for the full week regardless if they are open or not- for a single mom that is really tough but I'm making it work for now because in my heart I know he is safe and happy while I am at work.
My child was at lyrics daycare and they treated him like a prince . He is a well rounded , smart and funny little kid now directly because of the love and support they shared with him during his time there . I recommend them and their services aggressively .
I have to say I agree with the majority of these reviews and am appalled by the other (TWO). I am a young 40 with her first child and was referred to Lyrics by a great friend. My son is 16 months old and has only been attending since Jan., 2012 and we are in LOVE. Up until this past week I have been fortunate enough to be a stay at home mom and believe me, money does not grow on trees for us! But, I CHOOSE to completely drive out of the way to let the most important little man in my life be in the care of, yes, not one, but TWO, beautiful, caring ladies who love my son and I already consider family. Not only is the establishment great in itself, it thrills me that they focus on nutrition, education and learning, crafts, social aspects and even disgusting things like live reptiles...eeewww, but great for the children! Not a day goes by that I worry about my beautiful boy.... So, if you are living in the beautiful weather of San Diego and are present in the 2000's...Do it!! We at Lyrics are a stong village and we'd love to have you join us!
Caring owners, safe place, actual learning, great supervised interactivity. After a not so good daycare experience elsewhere, I was relieved to finally find Jeane and Tin-Lok. I feel at home every time I walk through the door. Sometimes when I leave my daughter is screaming and crying - Jeane will text me a picture 2 minutes later of my daughter playing with a huge smile on her face. Makes the workday so much easier.
1 of my kids attended Lyrics. 2 of my older kids did not, I wish they did but Lyrics wasn't around then. 2 of my kids are now in school and 1 in preschool, oh it is fun, just wait. I was reading the posts below & just to help you newbies out, Lyrics has less days off than ALL schools & most quality in home day cares and almost ALL preschools I have researched. You want a daycare full of providers that have time off with their family (note: if its in their home and they are quality, they have to close to do this). Lyrics only has 33 days "off" per year, including 2 weeks not paid for & you know per the calendar on their website what those days are every year. I take significantly more in sick days, vacation days, paid holidays etc. My childcare provider should have at least these days. Lyrics never closes for sick days, they have back up, finger printed and live scanned staff to call. Lyrics also host potlucks bi-monthly and other events in addition to their work week to keep the community the kids are in a strong village. My older kids school has 94 scheduled days off plus a short day every Wednesday for "staff development". Its part of a good education. Do not mistake quantity of days paid with quality of educators or education. I love their school. Quality means everyone is sane and rested and ready to teach.
My grandson that I am raising goes to Lyrics. He started out at parttime but now attends full time. Healthy food and a good mix of educational and play time. I love the photos that are posted daily so that I can see how much fun he is having. Lyrics is a family!
My daughter has gone to Lyric's Daycare for two years. I was very suspicious of home daycares until I walked into Lyric's and met Jeane and Tin-lok. From the first meeting, I knew that this was where my daughter was supposed to be. She is loved, nurtured, taught, engaged, and held responsible for her actions. She has access to a garden, animals, science and technology. She spends her days reading, playing, dancing and eating delicious organic, non gmo food. I never worry about her because I get updates and pictures sent to me during the day. I spend time at the daycare upon drop off and pick up and I count Jeane and Tin-lok as my friends. I know their children and River, their 18 year old son, pitches in at the daycare when he is not in school. My daughter loves when River helps out. He is great with the kids. My daughter will be four this September and it will be time for her to head to pre-school. Luckily by that time, my son will be one and will be at Lyric's full time. If you are looking for a small, loving home daycare, check Lyric's out. You won't be disappointed.

Our eldest son has attended Lyrics for 2.5 years. He graduates in 2 weeks and we will miss them. Our new born has a space reserved for January. Loving, amazing above and beyond. Jeane will text you with pictures and videos. All of the staff keep the kids going and our son can read (he is 3). They have a live science center and garden. They host potlucks so all of the families know each other. We love them.

When it was time for our oldest son to start a daycare program, we checked out several options. Not until we visited Lyric's did I feel comfortable with the idea of leaving our son for an entire work day. We immediately felt cared about and the environment is closer to a home atmosphere than I have seen at other daycares. When our second son arrived it was a great relief to already have care lined up with people we knew and trusted. Lyrics Daycare is the best place for little ones because it is the most like home; where kids are well supervised, well fed and given lots of love.

Lyric's Daycare is such a great place. The staff is caring and supportive. There is a very small ratio between the number of kids and adults. So, the children get extra attention and are well taken care of. There is a garden, which the families of the day care helped plant. They have bimonthly potlucks, so that all of the families can get to know one another. It's not just a day care, it's a community. That is why it stands out to me. To have that sense of family and community is so important for me and the children. It's worth checking out, it's such a supportive, healthy environment. I am impressed and pleased with my choice.

This is not your usual daycare. I never thought I would ever be comfortable leaving my children in any type of daycare setting, until I met Jeane and Tin-Lok who run the place. From the moment I met them and toured the place I kept thinking this has got to be a case of too good to be true! Turns out it was even better than that. My daughter loved going here. I felt good about bringing her here. She was was surrounded by loving, nuturing people who wanted nothing but the best for each child there. I never felt a moments worry about her welfare. Lyrics always goes above and beyond for their families. It is a lovely community of smart, funny people who honestly care about everyone who walks through their door. I have referred many friends to Lyrics and not one of them has been disappointed. There is a waiting list of course, so don't wait too long to get on that list. You'll totally regret it if you do!

2.5 years of being part of this amazing community at Lyrics. I don't want to say to much because I am biased. We love them so much. As most families that attend Lyrics, they have become part of family. Go see them. Live Science, garden, IPAD learning center, huge play inside and out and 4 to 1 ration. But that's just the basics. The community that you become part of is the core. Hope this review helps

Being new parents we never thought we would find a daycare that met our expectations in caring for our son especially checking out several daycares around San Diego. Lyrics Daycare exceeded our expectations. They go above and beyond to meet the specific needs of each child. Lyrics has the perfect formula of love, learning, nutrition, and patience. The "Whole Foods" mentality teaches kids good eating habits which ultimately nourish their brains and all future development that is one key factor we fully appreciated. With Lyrics you will have that peace of mind you search for in a Daycare.

I am a Lyric's Daycare parent. My child started at Lyric's when he was 8 months old and he just turned 3 years old. He loves going to Lyric's. We have had a wonderful experience since day one. Lyric's Daycare is not your average daycare. To begin with, it is a nuturing place full of laughter, music and fun. The food they serve the children is top-notch, great quality, organic, GMO-free food. I often joke that my son eats better at daycare than at home. They have really high standards for the type of food that they serve the children. This is but one of their many positive traits. There is plenty of outdoor play, a discovery zone with lots of interesting animals for the children to get to know and a newly-installed organic garden. It is a very enriching environment for young children. When my son was younger, he was taught sign language so that he could communicate his wants and needs. He has grown and flourished in the loving environment provided at Lyric's and we, as parents, have enjoyed becoming a part of the Lyric's Daycare community of families. My only concern in leaving my son at Lyrics Daycare is that I have to bribe him to leave, every day when I go pick him up. He has such a wonderful time there that he doesn't want to go home at the end of the day.
