I have become somewhat of a Duck conniesseur over the last 15 years having lived in Asia and eating at some of the best restaraunts in China, Hong Kong and Singapore. I recently moved to Virginia and was pleasantly surprised to find Mark's duck house in Arlington. Without doubt, this is the best chinese roast duck I have had anywhere in the US and it rivals some of the best I have had in Asia. The duck was moist, fleshy and very flavorfull. I just grabbed take out so cannot comment on the service, but it looked like authentic Hong Kong style to me - busy, no nonsense. If they can cook duck this well, then I would guess the rest of the food is of similar high standard. If you want exceptional authentic Chinese food served in a noisy and lively environment then you will love Mark's duck house. If you're put off by tatered table cloths, scuffed floors and people sharing food, then this will not be your place. For me, this is a Asian jewel in down town Virginia.

Everyone I take here loves it. The food is wonderful! Whether you come for Dim Sum or just order off the menu, you will be pleased. The downsides (to me) are huge. They don't have Peking Duck and their roast duck, though tasty, is full of bone shards. The restrooms are dirty. The restaurant itself is dirty and shabby, from the carpet to the sticky tables and the torn upholstery on the chairs. And to top it off, I have seen roaches and flies crawling the walls. Love the food but can't stand eating there.
