I recently had my 2002 Porsche Boxster towed to Massey due to what turns out to be a bad recommendation. I feel Massey goal was to empty my wallet not to take a measured approach to the repair. If they had hooked a battery to the car and ran it in their shop for 15 minutes, connected to the diagnostics, they would have captured the actual issue. Instead they insisted on a very expensive guess. That is not what the "experts" do. They wanted $1700 to replace battery and alternator and were guessing at issue. Using a $10 OBD2 iOS program I validated the issue was what I was telling them. Cost to me is $165 for a new battery, $100 for the part and I will install it myself. Unfortunately I also paid Massey $250 for an incorrect diagnostic where nothing was done. Yes, they charged me $250 to not run OBD2 diagnostics on the car, take the bad battery out and put it back. They also documented they "serviced" the battery cables but I see no evidence of that work. I spoke to Al and Fred Massey. The car had an issue stalling and then not starting unless it was left for 20-30 minutes. When I spoke to Al and Fred I told them that may be the "crankshaft position sensor" a $100 part that is a ~ 1 hour install per several Boxster Porsche forums. I am a shade tree mechanic but this is hard to do without a lift. I told them that I considered Massey, as a professional auto repair facility, the experts but they never even considered the crankshaft sensor or apparently ran diagnostics.

I stopped by Massey a couple times to get an oil change and a few other things done on my car and these guys were great. They didn't try to sell me something I didn't need. Just honest, friendly, and trustworthy guys. I highly recommend them

I've been a customer of Massey Automotive for about 20 years. Fred Massey and his team have serviced several of our cars over that time. I've always found them to be honest and reliable, and their advice to be excellent. If you're looking for a dependable shop to service your car, I highly recommend Massey Automotive.

Everytime I need to get my car serviced, I go to Massey. Mr. Massey always greets you with a smile, and the job is always done correctly and quickly. You can tell they truly value customer service. Massey Automotive always beats the dealer price too. Most recently, I needed a hinge on my trunk fixed. Within 20 minutes I had my car back-free of charge. I know it would have cost me $45 just for the dealer to take a look at the problem. I highly recommend Massey Automotive!

My 2002 Tahoe just passed 200,000 miles! That only happens with a professional partner like Fred Massey who knows cars, is committed to quality service and understands long term customer relationships! Here's to 300,000 miles! Thanks, Fred.

I have been going to Massey for approx 2-3 years now and have been blown away by the level of professional customer service they give. Each time thinking there could not possibly be anyone better. Most recently they even went above and beyond when I had a battery problem. Came out to see my car, took care of me, got everything taken care of. This really is a first class operation, prices are totally fair, and 1000% trust worthy which is so huge when dealing with a mechanic

I just returned after serving 7 years overseas in Germany. I knew my car needed a good once over and with the Check Engine light on I couldn't pass the emissions test to get it re-registered in the U.S. I don't usually like to take my car to an automotive center and say "see if there is anything wrong with it" as this usually means being taken advantage of with a lot of unnecessary repairs - but I took the risk. Al and the whole team were great. They recommended a few minor things that I could hold off on, but then went to work solving the emissions defects - even running it through the emissions test for me. So, when I showed up to pick up my car it was ready to be registered - emission inspection in hand. I pretty much knew what the issues would be since I was working through these same issues in Germany - with costly and failed results. Massey solved the problem, gave me a good diagnosis of my vehicle, worked it for a reasonable price, and I was treated very professionally - great interaction with Al and several of the mechanics. They've earned my trust.

Fred and Al take care of both of our vehicles. I trust them to keep my best interests (financially as well as safety) in mind as they give me options. I always trust that the work will be done professionally and on time. I know that they will tell me when they don't think the work is needed or when they feel we have a safety issue to deal with. I could not be more satisfied.
I've now been going to Massey Automotive for the past 12 years. This in itself says a lot about the trust I have in Fred for my automotive repairs. The service is first rate and he stands behind his work. Although you may find a cheaper mechanic around town, you will not find one more honest. The old saying about "you get what you pay for" sometimes is very true. I would recommend Massey Automotive to anyone needing car repair and doesn't trust a dealer.
This is the worst mechanic in the entire Metro Atlanta Area. They will try to find everything under the sun wrong with you car and charge you an arm and a leg. Friendly image, but don't judge a book by it's cover. Other auto mechanics in Marietta have told me the same thing. WATCH OUT FOR MASSEY AUTOMOTIVE!!!

We are disappointed to get this response from someone whose automobile we didn't work on. First time customer brought 2002 vehicle in with a list of complaints. Knowing that the repairs needed could potentially be expensive on a car with 94,000 miles we thought it best to advise the customer of all issues we noticed while checking out the car. We supplied the customer with an estimate using new AND remanufactured parts. He was comparing our prices to the cost of a friend doing the job with used parts.
I am not from Atlanta, and when I desperatley needed a reliable mechaninc someone recommended Massey. How relieved I was to find them! It is a hard to find a honest mechaninc, what relief it is to have discovered MASSEY AUTOMOTIVE. I drive all the way from Lawrenceville, and suggest anyone who wants great reliable service to do the same!!!!

We have used Massey fo service for 20 years. Best service shop in town! Professional, quick turn around, honest, and know what they are doing. They solved issues that stumped other services shops for us. The are not the cheapest, but you save in long run as the fix an issue and stand behind their work.

Massey is scandalous. They tried to charge me 2700 dollars to fix a leak that cost me 200 dollars to fix at volvtech. Then when I didn't like their quote they charged me 200 dollars for looking at the leak. And I already knew where the leak was coming from. They either don't know how to service volvo's or they just don't like military. They said they gave me a military discount. I've never heard of a diagnostic costing 200 dollars especially with a discount. I think they didn't like that I went elsewhere because I didn't trust them. And they were rude.

We are disapointed to receive this response from a person who has never used our services. This person was referred to us by two other repair shops who did not want to do major engine work on this vehicle. This person asked us to check out the volvo for a family member and requested a list of EVERYTHING that was needed. He mentioned his relative would be relocating to New York. We performed a complete physical per their request. We also had permission to do engine disassembly at a cost approved by this family member. We try to treat everyone with the utmost respect, especially military (our General Manager was a military officer) and hate to hear such comments.
