Stone Creek is a beautiful community in Rockwall, TX but the Zachary Hunt, Sales Associate, is unprofessional, narcissistic, rude, condesending and disrespectful. He has been sarcastic with us since his first interaction but we attempted to work through it on several occasions, looking at the larger picture. He continues to show us that he has no use to us or our business at Meritage. We were told last week that Mertiage teaches him to treat the business as his own so if this is the image that Meritage wants the community to see, they have succeeded, because we can't take anymore. This process has been the worst experience of my life. They have found every opportunity to make me feel devalued as a person, customer and woman. They have created me unfairly and racially unequal. We am spending close to half a million dollars on a home in Rockwall, TX but you would think that we were purchasing a pair of flip flops at the local Wal-Mart. We have attempted to speak to someone at the corporate office on 2 separate occasions and to no avail. Please DO NOT spend your money with a builder who do not value you, your time or your money. There are many builders in Dallas. Do not make the same costly mistakes we have. We are attempting to seek some sort of resolution to this issue amicably but see no light at the end of this tunnel. We deserve to be treated as equal citizens and not lower-class minorities.

Buyer beware of Meritage Homes in the Raleigh, NC area. They are not equipped to keep up with the demand, and it is manifesting itself in delays, poor quality, poor communication, poor customer service, and unhappy customers. We had a contract to build a home with Meritage in Durham, NC. Delays, mistakes, poor quality, communication problems, and lack of experienced construction management started from the very beginning. After we signed our contract, it took three months for Meritage to break ground on our lot. During this time, we received no updates and had to persistently inquire to get any information. At first Meritage avoided our inquiries and we couldn't get any information about reasons for the delay, and then the reasons for the delay kept changing, and some of the reasons given were lies. When Meritage did finally start we had all kinds of problems: concrete slab problems, framing problems, electrical outlets in wrong location, HVAC vents in wrong location, brick columns on front porch not straight, walls not straight, trim not straight, bad fireplace stone installation, mistake pouring concrete driveway - the list goes on and on. We requested meetings with Meritage about problems several times, and none of our requests were granted or even acknowledged. We had a real estate agent representing us, and he couldn't get Meritage's attention either. He told Meritage several times that there were problems and that we were not happy, and Meritage ignored h

The homebuilding experience was excellent from start to finish. The sales girls and the superintendent were helpful throughout the entire process and are still willing to help us with any minor problems we have. The only complaint we have is the wrong size cabinets were installed when we closed on the home but they did fix it within a week after we moved in. We are pleased with the quality and will defiantly purchase a Meritage Home again in the future.

I bought a Meritage home over a year ago and am still waiting for problems that were there the day we moved in to be corrected. Dealing with this company has been the worst experience of my life. They don't know the meaning of customer service.
