I took my dog to that hospital because she pok her eye. Doctor Murphy did not care at all. She told me she need it to do the culture in order to give me the right medicine but I knew the result will be only ready in 3-4 days.So she gave us very low dosage of the medication . 3 days later I found in her eye a leaf. She was getting worse and worse every day. Did not open her eye for 10 days. We went back and paid again , but what I was told by the Doctor " Sorry there nothing I can do , you have to take het to the specialist. Do not go the that hospital , please! Save your money and your pet. Horror !!!

My dog, an 8 year old Briard, became suddenly ill. The hospital prescribed over $1200 of testing, etc. We took them up on $800 of testing and meds. They never called to see if my extremely lethargic dog did well with the medications, or how he was doing. Bonaparte died 2 days later. I called the office to let them know a fee months later, ad they STILL never called back. I have NEVER in my dog-ownership life not gotten a follow up and/or sympathy card from my veterinarian practice. I will search for someone else more devoted.

First off I am not saying that our cats illness has anything to do with the vets. We adopted our 2 kittens from Oceanside SPCA. We picked up our kittens from Mohnacky of Carlsbad and brought them home they at first seemed nice and caring the next day our cats were sneezing and had snotty noses. We thought it was just a cold. After a week passed and they did not get better we opted to take them back in to see what was wrong. Our male cat was diagnosised with pnumonia and our female just had a Mild upper respritory infection. The told us it was best if they kept our male cat overnight for 2 nights and sent us home with our female loaded up on amoxazilian and interferon a immune booster along with a hole in our wallet for $700. The hospital told us they would call us the morning of the 3rd day to pick him up or discuss him staying another day. They never called so come 3pm on the 3rd day my husband and I go to the clinic and ask to see our cats. The nurse comes in with our cat and we get ready to go home only to find out they try and charge us another 250 bucks for his 3rd day stay. We say HELL NO cause you never called us this morning to let us know to come pick him up. They also diagnosised our cats with Feline Herpes NICE! They told us they send in the claims to our pet insurance. This was 4 weeks ago and I called sheltercare and they have yet to recieve any claim from them. I hate this vet clinic! P.S. our female cat still sneezes and has a snotty nose. DO NOT GO THERE

I adopted my husky last summer from the Oceanside Animal Shelter, they had to send her to be spade and we (my boyfriend and I) did not have a choice as to where they sent her. The staff never called to let us know when to pick her up or that her surgery got pushed back. I had to call them! They left 3 of the stitches in her stomach when we went to get them removed. And this last was the worst. My other dog was recently in a fight and wasn't able to open his eye. They were the closest hospital that I knew of. It was just after they were closing and the vet was very unsympathetic. I didn't have much in my bank account at the time and let her know. She said that she pretty much couldnt do anything but send me home with pain meds. Then as she walked out she slammed the door. I wanted to yell at her. No compassion or sense of community with them. All about the dollar." I found out one of my neighbors was a vet as I got home "she over heard me talking on the phone about what happened" and offered to take a look at him, was able to handle him MUCH better, (my dog knows a good person when he sees one) and said that it was fine, and should return to normal in a couple of days. Which is has been. The people at mohnacky wanted to sedate him and were going to charge me hourly plus an after hours fee!!!! The only thing about that visit that was nice was one girl up front. I was in tears and she was the only one who was caring enough and not a witch.

My dog has been going to Mohnacky since birth and she is 9 years old! I would never take her anywhere else. Dr. Mohnacky is very caring and understanding and does and enormous amount of service for shelters and other animal organizations. The pricing is very comparable to other animal hospitals in North County. The staff are very dedicated and understanding. Besides I could never put a price on my dogs health!

Mohnacky is interested in the MOOLAH! I don't base this on one visit but , several of my family's experiences. YES, they offer a no interest payment plan! Because they want those whom cannot afford them to agree to pay their exorbitant prices while they mis-diagnose their pet! YES, they are friendly to you. you wouldn't use them if they were rude and insincere up front. SAVE YOUR PET! TAKE THEM ELSEWHERE!

Pet lovers beware... Mohnacky Animal Hospital in Carlsbad is masterful at finding ways to separate you from your money. I couldn't believe how many people had bills amounting from $500-$1,000 dollars as I waited to empty my bank account. Since when do you have to choose between loving and caring for your pet and making your house payment? There's something morally wrong with this.

I have used this vetinary office for several years. The vetinary knowledge seems fine and they have done a surgery on my dog. HOWEVER!! Two different animals have died there when they told me they were fine. The first time was a rabbit. They kept it for a couple of hours then told us to come before in 2 hours. We (my two kids and I) returned 20 minutes earlier than that. When we arrived they said they were just getting her ready for us. They left us in the waiting room for an hour and finally told us to come into an exam room to go over her treatment. After another 20 minutes the vet finally came in and said that the rabbit had died. This last time our dog suddenly got sick. We thought a bone she had eaten had splintered. We left her there for x-rays. They called and said the x-ray was negative and we could pick her up in a couple of hours with medication. Then they said she had Parvo (50-50 chance). The vet said we could come and visit the dog. BUT twice we were denied. But they told my kids dog had 80% chance making it. We were assured that they had our numbers and would call as soon as they had some information. We didn't hear from them again that day. The next morning we waited until they opened and called them at 10:00. After putting me on hold for quite a while I was finally told that technicians were working on her and they would call me back. At 11:30 I called them and was on hold again. Then the vet told me she didn't make it through the night.Sad!

The doctors and staff at Mohnacky are wonderful. Their expertise, thoroughness, and caring have literally saved my senior dog's life on more than one occasion. Everyone is caring and attentive. They offer a no interest loan program, which is great when you have to make difficult decisions about the level of care for your pet.

It cost me $2000. for some stiches in his face and 2 additional visits.

We have taken our Pug to Mohnacky since he as a pup and he's 4yrs old now and in great health. Mohnacky staff and doc's are very caring and understanding of pets and family. I found them to be reasonable priced offering shot clinics and maintaince packages for check ups etc.
