This past season Moroni & Son Oil Co. allowed us to run out of oil on the coldest night of the year even though we pre-paid for our oil and had over 700 gallons on our account. Two months later they allowed us to come within a day or less of running out of oil a second time. We found out that we were not alone in our problems with this oil company after hearing from many other Moroni customers that had the exact same issues with them. For obvious reasons we decided not to continue to do business with them and when our "Buy Ahead Program" ended on May 30th 2014 we contacted them in writing as well as via e-mail stating that we were terminating our business relationship with them and that we were formally requesting a refund of the unused oil on our account per the terms of their "Buy Ahead" contract. The contract states that "Customers will be reimbursed within 30 days of the end of the contract" which had come and gone. We even e-mailed a reminder to them which they ignored. We had to file a complaint with the BBB to finally have our money returned to us. It is bad enough that this oil company ran us out of oil and risked freezing our pipes and damaging our furnace not to mention making our family very cold and uncomfortable but then hold onto our money for the unused oil that we paid for until we filed a formal complaint against their company. It's a shame that a business can operate in such a dishonest manner. If you do business with this oil co. you will have issues!

We pre bought oil from them and paid for a service contract 2011/2012. The furnace quit and we called them. A serviceman came did some repairs and got it running. Shortly after the house was full of smoke and we called them back in. The serviceman this time told us we needed a new furnace. I then contacted someone else to replace my furnace and when thy came they they could fix the existing furnace. The ignitor had been taped onto the blower and everything got gummed up. The furnace had not been cleaned when they said they did it and it became so cloged that the soot was not going out the chimney but pumping in the house. The other company fixed everything for a small charge and the furnace has been fine since. I called Matt Morony and told him what happened and that I wanted a refund for the service that was not done and some pre bought oil that we still had coming (because I did not want to continue buisness with them) he finally agreed to give me a refund if I put it in writng. I sent the letter to him and I get an oil delivery shortly after. When I called he says he is not going to refund the service money either. My family was in danger of CO poisning from his negligence and he would not even refund the money for the services he never performed. I would recomend not going to Maroni for service and oil. He is disreputable and unreliable.
