I did some work in February 2011 and the insurance was supposed to cover that. They called me all the time the rest of the year for any reasons just to bring me into the office and spend money with them - telling me I have enough money left on my insurance and I should use them. They sent me a bill next year : for me - $400 and for other reasons my wife - $800 ( because HEY FORGOT TO CHARGE MY WIFE'S INSURANCE ) So they dragged my insurance claim one year and half ON PURPOSE just to make me spend money in their office .When I contested the extra charges they had their collection department call me demanding me to pay the money . THEY HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO CONSIDERATION FOR COSTUMERS FINANCIAL SITUATION THEY WILL DECEIVE YOU TO SPEND IN THERE AND CHARGE YOU LATER - EVEN AFTER ONE YEAR .

I've never had service soo terrible from a dentist in my 48 years of life. Dr. Carter will never get another dime of my family's money; repeated canceled service to me an my wife. Totally screwed up my wife's bridge work. No accountability. Has no respect for their client's time. Took me 2 weeks to get an emergency appointment and then the Dr. canceled twice. When they finally scheduled me, I changed my work schedule and lost $150 and 4 hrs vacation time to sit in a chair for 1 1/2 hrs for absolutely nothing but hear people debate on how to charge me before they enact service. Ridiculous. Fails to realize that the patient is the reason they exist. Very unprofessional. They should not exist as a business. When I say terrible, I mean TERRIBLE!

i have been to nanston dental in lawrenceville twice for a deep cleaning. I love their friendly staff and prompt services. i didnt feel any pain when they were doing the cleaning and was extremely pleased with the results. The only thing that i didnt like was their pricing. Even after my insurance, i had to pay $500 out of pocket! Other than their pricing, everything was fantastic!

Left there office am on a monday. By pm friday was in hospital having surgery. spent 4 days in icu 2 more in hospital. Had to take IV antibiotics for 30 days and 30 more days oral. I only went there because they took my insurance. I tried to save $400.00 and came with in 6 hrs of dieing, and spent $5,000.00 on medical bills. Next time I will go where my dentist tell me to. Thanks Stacie for the 4" scar I will have the rest of my life.

We are troubled to hear of this unfortunate experience. Ludwig's Angina is a very serious condition which requires immediate attention by trained medical professionals. There are several things that cause this condition (Strep Throat, Tonsilitis, Periodontal Disease and a dental abscess to name just a few). I am not familiar with your specific dental history and care, nor am I allowed to discuss the specific medical treatment you received.

I've always had good dental hygene and after moving to Atlanta I tried this dentist. They hygenist said I needed a deep cleaning in all four quadrants of my mouth (very pricey) and I had never even had my gums bleed! So, I switched to Griffith Dental and didn't say anything. My cleaning went without a hitch, typical for me. I'm 100% positive Nanston was trying to make money off of my mouth. Luckily I go every regularly and knew that I didn't need this. Just beware!

Dear Angiefla, I'm sorry to hear that you thought our treatment wasn't necessary. Gum disease will progress if not treated properly, so please be sure to visit your dentist regularly and follow their instructions for proper care between your dental visits.
Well I had a great experience with them they took great care of me even gave me soda cause my sugar was down I had a terrible abcess in my mouth and they had to give me oral surgery it didn't hurt and the bill was not bad either so to everyone that had a bad experience sorry i would recommend this office to my everyone even my enemies

i took my 3 year old daughter for her first ever dental check up at nanston, hoping for a fun, easy, KID FRIENDLY experience. the staff at the front desk was rude to me b/c i stood at the wrong counter. the technician lady was an awful soulless witch to my child. she had zero patience, & obviously did not enjoy or have any experience working w/ children. once the xrays got going , i couldn't really grab my daughter off the chair & leave, so i had to keep smiling & cheering her on, while this hag all but yelled at my terrified child to keep the stupid square in her mouth "or else". she was rough w/ the cleaning & my poor kid screamed the whole time. thanks jerks for ruining the dentist experience for my baby. please don't take your small children to this awful place. i wish there was more i could do to let them know they suck, but at least i can vent on an obscure forum. GRRRRRR!!!!!

I went to have my deep cleans done the first time and returned for a basic clean after six months. They lost my x-ray images and i had to redo it again. Earlier this year, i went to have my wisdom teeth pull out and they screwed up my tongue! i'm thinking about a law suit if my tongue does not fully recover in the long run. The billing procedure is confusing; they would bill you with different accounts! It's like you'll never pay enough for their poor services!

Dear illdens08, How are you feeling? While our Oral Surgery Department does have a separate billing system than our other departments, our billing department is available to answer any questions or concerns you have about your account. Please call us at (770) 242-3260 if you have any concerns.
Quality from doctors is average, but they are friendly and nice. They seem to be new dentists, therefore enthusiastic but not very experienced (none had learned the trick of wiggling cheek so you don't feel pinch from injections). I've been going to Nanston for 3 years, and I've rotated through 3 dentists because none stayed longer then a year. Problem is that Nanston is a corporation, run that way. Business office/billing doesn't care and doesn't talk to the dentist. If you have problems, trying to setup up a referral, or something else the person on the phones doesn't understand "dentistry" and of course the doctor isn't in the next room to review your record. They want to charge you and bill you for everything. I had the experience where they had me sign my treatment plan, and the approved charges from insurance, but when not approved... didn't care. Payment due. Didn't offer to negotiate, or do anything "extra" to show insurance it was necessary... just payment notices. If you're looking for basic dental services, ready to pay yourself and don't want to build a relationship with a doctor that cares (for more then a year anyway), then it is fine.

The Dentist was amazing. Professional, funny and did the job well. The billing department is horrendous. They charged me with two accounts, I payed the total bill. When I returned to have my crown put on, they told me I had a refund due . .and then charged me an additional 200 dollars in the mail. I called them up, they proceeded to threaten my credit if I didn't pay them and that there was no way to dispute payment. My insurance company no longer supports them (Aetna DMO) so I have no recourse. I called the regional office 6 times for a Toni Allen. She never returns a call. So I'm either stuck paying 200 additional dollars for their screw up or my excellent credit is !#%!#% up because of me getting a root canal.

I took my daughter to her first appointment there, and did not have our insurance card or copay (my purse was in the trunk of the car, which my husband had with him on a business trip.) The front office was more than accomodating, allowing me to bring in the necessary paperwork and payment later that week. Also, I've felt that the dental care that we've received there is just fine. (I guess it just depends upon which dentist and hygenist you wind up getting.) I have to say though, that I hate the phone system, which requires time and patience just to get through and make an appointment. So for that reason, I have to deduct a star.

My husband was a few minutes late for his appt and was told by the office staff that he'd have to reschedule his appt because of his tardiness. We've always had to wait for our appts. This seems to me to be a double standard.... Also we changed dentists recently & we were told there was going to be a $15 charge for our dental records. This fee is way too high for a few pieces of paper and a couple of x-rays that my insurance paid for.

I went to this dental group and was highly unhappy with them. I only wne to them beucase they were on my insurance plan and they were close by. The dentist had to re-due two different fillings and still never got them right. I ended up going back to a dentist I'd been to in the past several times and he fixed them correctly the 1st time around. Every time I wen to them (Nanston) they took 3 to 4 hours, even jsut for a cleaning and x-rays. I would NOT reccomend them to anybody.

Nanston gives alright service, but they are often a little slow. It just depends on what you are there for that day. The staff is friendly and helpful most of the time as well.
