I had to pay an extra 1/8th of a point because the loan coordinator and underwriters fell behind on processing my mortgage and I had to lock in for 14 additional days -- she/they had all the paperwork, just didn't see fit to getting around to me -- the customer. This cost me several hundred extra dollars. They didn't even tell me about the change that would be necessitated by a couple of extra days required to close (because of their inability to move fast enough!)-- I found out at the closing, when it was too late.
