If you have to eat red meat, then buy organic home grown! You'll be sure it's free of antibiotics and hormones, raised humanely, and killed quickly and relatively painlessly. Then be sure the butcher has high standards of cleanliness and service. One Way Meat just outside of Monroe is a great example! We have been buying beef and pork from a friend for several years, using One Way to cut and pack it. They are friendly, efficient, and their facilities are spotless! If you don't have a source for home grown meat, I'm sure they will have a contact for you.
