They know what they are doing here. After taking my computer to PeachMac in Athens and being told the repair I needed would not be covered under the warranty, I walked out and took my laptop here. I almost got ripped off for the second time....I have taken a different computer to another Apple "authorized" service place in Athens before that also wanted to charge a ridiculous amount for an out of warranty repair. Onyx told me about a flat rate repair program through apple that was 350.00 less for out of warranty laptops. You just don't find many stores that do business the right way like Onyx does.

We opted for their 2-hour expedited service and they immediately put our Apple G5 on the bench, fixing it very quickly. We also asked for a ram upgrade which they did immediately. They were very courteous and went to the trouble of showing us how to upgrade ram for ourselves. Finally, they gave us two free T-shirts. We are very happy campers.

Owning a Mac, it is always comforting when you find people who can really help. When I first got Charter Broadband, the Charter field techs could not get my Mac to connect. They finally told me it must be my ethernet card so I took the computer to Onyx who found the ethernet card to be fine. I requested Onyx to send one of their techs to my house to meet the Charter guys and show them how to make a Mac connect to the internet. That was done and we had a connection in less than 20 minutes. Thank you Onyx!! (BTW, I got Charter to reimburse me for the Onyx bench charge and the in-house service call.)

In a hasty back-up, I accidentally deleted about a week's worth of work. Took in my laptop and got a very direct evaluation of what would be necessary (cost/time). These guys are VERY DIRECT and VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE. They didn't try to blow smoke up my ass, but kept the price and time on the up-and-up. When I hand someone my computer, I am handing them MY lively-hood and expect to be dealt with professionally. Thankfully, these guys are "straightshooters," and were very transparent regarding how much was needed to recover my files and spare me the agony of redoing my work. Thanks OC!

Recently took my laptop for possible repair, stated my concerns and computer issues. Paid "bench" fee. Got a call the day after, was told that to further investigate the problems I need to pay another $200.00. After the second payment I would get estimate how much more I would pay to fix the problem. The funny part I stated the problem. Called and spoke with two individuals there trying to figure out what exactly did I pay my first $40.00 for, to make story short, they kept going in circles, then I got hung up on. When called back the owner told me to "knock yourself out, dispute the charge". Followed the advice

This review is a dishonest reconstruction of what actually occurred. This person was abusive and out of control. I personally hung up on her because she was screaming. I am 100% comfortable we did everything possible to try and deliver the excellent service for which we are known. We don't tolerate abuse. Justin Kenagy/Co-Owner 770-451-8223. Update: 4/17/07 Discover Card has notified us the dispute has been resolved in our favor.
I was referred to these guys by the Apple Store at Lenox. That was my first clue that the place was good - the APPLE store referred me to them for service of my Mac. They were awesome! Not only did they get my Mac fixed in short order, but they also charged a LOT less than the Apple folks for the same repair. While I didn't opt for them this time around, they also have expedite charges you can choose to get your repair done either within 8 business hours or 2!! Great service, thanks!!!
