Don't be fooled by slick salemanship at quote time. You pay 1/3 down when you sign the contract, 1/3 when they start, and the final 1/3 upon completion. I signed the contract work started the next day. After they had 2/3 of my money, everything went downhill. Their communication is awful. The general contractor or one of his reps was never on site, instead I'd see them do drivebys, but they never stopped to discuss the project with me. They said people would be here on certain days and they weren't. Phone/voice messages went unreturned and then they claimed they never received them. The business address is a retail store that rents P.O. boxes, so there is no business office where you can go and talk to someone. They left materials in the street and on my property during the project, when I was promised they wouldn't. They got behind schedule, which caused a domino affect with other work I had scheduled after they were to have finished. They caused damaged to my house doing the work, and caused even more damage trying to fix the initial damage. They were completely unapologetic about everything. The only time the general contractor or one of his reps called me or came to my door was when they wanted payments.

I hired this company for a small project in my garage, converting my 3rd bay into a workshop. The quote was a bit expensive but based off the 5 star reviews, I thought it would be worth it. Six weeks after paying the deposit for a job that should have been done in one, I fired the contractor. He admitted to me that he recently downsized his company from 70 people to 5 and that he subcontracts everything out. There was little to no supervision and the project, which started (somewhat) satisfactory, became worse and worse. The final straw was that he sent laborers to build the cabinets and install the doors rather than a cabinet maker. The result was cabinets that I could have done myself and doors that aren't straight. Despite his sincerity about wanting to fix it, I hadn't heard from him after 2 voicemails. I am now in the process of hiring others to finish a simple job that should have been completed a long time ago.

I called 6 companies there were only two companies that actually gave me an estimate. I had a roof that was damaged in a storm in March. I chose Penn Development to do my work because there communication & follow up were impeccable. They were able to take care of all my needs the roof, drywall, insulation, & mold removal. Penn Development is also insurance claim specialist and took care of the whole process of dealing with the insurance company. As far as the work they were right on schedule and finished the job on time and for what they said they would do it for. I will definitely use them for my next project which is a room addition. Thank you Penn Development for all your hard work and wish you well. Mrs. Hazelwood

I just wanted to give a review on this company. I moved here from Chicago and had no idea on who to use on all the repairs to our home. I had Penn Development out to our home to look at our irrigation system. I was very surprised to find out what all they did. Penn Development ended up doing our room addition, pool remodel & our front & backyard. The pricing was great the service & workmanship were outstanding. This was a one stop shop. I couldn't ask for a better experience. I highly recommend Penn Development, Inc for all your home needs. Jeff Scott
