My main gripe with the Perlman Clinic is their billing. They charge you up front for things that my insurance company has explicity stated, and even given me letters to take in with me, that I am not to be charged for. This is "just their policy," + then you get stuck dealing with submitting a claim later on + going through the countless frustrating phone calls between the Physicians Group, the Clinic and your insurance provider. They will not notify you when they receive the EOB, I was told I had to keep following up for the next 6-8 weeks to find out if they did, and then they could refund my money in the next month or so, but I would have to follow up on that as well. Even then they still tried to only refund me what they got back from insurance despite a contract stating they could not receive more from me than what insurance would reimburse. When I was getting the runaround from the front desk I asked to speak directly to Billing--she was it. Reception also gave me the wrong information to put on the claim I submitted + when I called back she gave me another one that was wrong as well (if you're also the Billing Department, shouldn't you know ICD/CPT/diagnosis codes, etc.?) Eventually I googled it and found the correct answer my darn self. My PCP WAS Dr. Perlman--I've seen her once in two years and she never recognizes me. Her PA is Silva Toledo--she and the nurse are the redeeming qualities about the clinic.
