My wife and I had recently purchased our home in north Fulton and began to immediately plan the remodel of our outdated 20 y/o kitchen. With many vendors and corporations to choose from we wanted to ensure we went with a reputable company with a solid warranty behind their products and craftsman ship. We haven't been disappointed and as of 4.20.16 we have a fully functional and resigned chef's kitchen we and our guests can enjoy for years to come.

Hi dgastate! Thanks so much for your positive review of PKD. It really means a lot to all of us to know you had a great renovation with our company AND get to enjoy your brand new chef's kitchen with fond memories of your experience. Thanks for taking the time to post your thoughts and never hesitate to contact us if you need anything! All the best, PKD Team
After meeting with four different contractors, we went with Platinum Kitchens & Design based in Alpharetta to do a total renovation to our kitchen. Although I didn't particularly enjoy trekking up GA 400 north for my consultation and design sessions, I couldn't have been more pleased with the entire process and final product. Their entire team was so great to work with - prompt, organized, knowledgeable, and professional. They spent a solid hour with me in my kitchen taking specs and listening to my input. Once a layout was agreed upon, they had a dedicated design/textile member meet with me to go over all my options and help make decisions. Initially, I was worried that picking materials would be overwhelming with so many different options, but Platinum made it so easy and helped me to find the styles and pieces I wanted. And when the final day came to start demo, their construction team wasted no time getting things started. Although our initial project time was slated for 4- 5 weeks, Luis and his crew finished in 3.5 weeks and kept the working areas neat and tidy. If you need a major kitchen makeover and are in the Atlanta area, I would highly recommend Platinum Kitchens & Design. I really enjoyed working with them and am so happy with the final product. Not only that, but their price was very fair compared to the other quotes I received.
PK did a total kitchen renovation which included knocking down a wall, moving gas lines, installing a new hood, counters, cabinets, and an island.

Hello bangbangyoureit! Many thanks to you for taking time to post your positive review of your experience with PKD. We know facing all of the decisions linked to a large renovation and subsequently being without a functional kitchen in the home is really daunting and difficult. We try very hard to make it as pleasant as possible from the first meeting to the last day. It's not easy and we so appreciate your recognition of our efforts. Thanks again and all the best to you and yours, PKD Team
We used Platinum Kitchens recently to renovate our kitchen, den and powder room. It all started with the kitchen. We were interested in re-configuring the layout, knocking down walls to adjacent rooms to make the design more open. We contacted PK because we knew we needed a design-build firm for this project. Our designer Michelle was very creative and provided a unique design that we hadn't thought of, which worked perfectly for our needs. She provided a very thorough cost estimate that left us feeling confident they had thought of all possible issues that may arise throughout the project. Juan's crew was very professional and did great work. They were very dedicated, sometimes working long hours to get the job done. They completed the job on schedule (6 weeks) and within budget. The entire PK team was a pleasure to work with, professional, courteous and knowledgeable. We are so happy with our new kitchen! We'd definitely use them again but don't plan to move anytime soon!

Dear CindyandBrent, Many thanks for taking the time to post your kind review of the experience you had with us. It really means a lot to to our entire team. Your project is one of our favorites of the year - so on trend, yet with a classic look that is sure to please for a long, long time. We hope you and yours continue to enjoy it together. Please don't hesitate to call on us if you need anything. All the best from the PKD Crew!
I decided to go with PKD after much research and reading reviews online. I thoroughly enjoyed working with Julia and esp Sarah ( she was always quick with replies n v helpful)and the team with Dave and Mike joiner was good. Project finished with its usual hitches ( cabinet hardware not there etc) . Unfortunately my experience with Elizabeth was not good as she was only contacting me when a payment was due otherwise she was completely detached from the project , although I was given her name for point of reference. My finished project had a badly scratched floor where they dragged the cooking range which I was reimbursed money stating I can get it done by myself. I'm happy with my kitchen and overall was happy with the service provided by the Joiner team, however I'm only giving 3 stars because I felt after paying all the money that I did, PKD did not make me feel like a valued customer.

Sadly - I had a very bad experience with PDK. The initial meeting, design and decorating meetings went well, however once demolition and construction started, I was very disappointed. The job was scheduled to take 6-8 weeks and ended up taking 3-4 months. There were many weeks that they showed up for day (or less) and continuously provided excuses about being short staffed and having too much work. On top of not being able to deliver in a timely manner, the contractor that was assigned to my home did not seem to have any desire to ensure quality. The backsplash had to be installed twice (the second time was better than the first, but not something I would consider a good tile job), the walls were painted twice (and the second crew agreed that the first paint job was bad), there were electrical issues, plumbing issues and cabinet issues. The contractor never brought up any of the issues and nothing was corrected unless I continuously hounded them with e-mail and phone calls. The issues were eventually corrected for the most part, however it took entirely too much of my time and energy to get the issues corrected. This was a very painful experience and was very expensive for a mediocre job.

Dear Teresa - we couldn't agree more. Your project was a far cry from our finest performance and we are so sorry that your experience with us was so negative. We appreciate all feedback, both positive & negative, and since the time your project ended in December 2015, we've enacted a company-wide initiative to avoid repetition of these missteps. Ultimately, our goal is to provide a beautiful end product by way of a pleasant renovation process. In your case, we failed and we want you to know that we care, we apologize and we appreciate your business. Despite the sourness, we do hope that you are enjoying your new kitchen and please let us know if you need anything. Respectfully, Michael & Leslie Karp (owners of PKD)
the design service was a great help. On time every day, kept us informed along the way, helped us with unexpected issues and did a great job! All of the individuals who worked in our house were the best! These guys know what they are doing. Highly recommend.

Thanks Mark & Kathy - We truly appreciate the complimentary review and we're so happy that you are happy with your renovation from beginning to end. We're always here if you need us for anything and we hope you continue to enjoy your beautiful new kitchen for many years to come. Warm regards, The PKD Team
In all the After pics I do not see the microwaves that appear in the before pics!! And BTW, I do NOT want my kitchen to be the new family room! Seriously? Who wants a bunch of people watching TV in the kitchen?

Dear washeranddryer, Hey guys! Perhaps you should ask the folks eating in your living room what they think. Anyway, sorry to learn of your recent troll infestation - total bummer. All the best, themicrowavedrawer http://platinum-kitchens.com/blog/kitchen-design-secret-microwave-drawer/
After a thorough and long bidding process I selected Platinum Kitchens to remodel my dated 1980's kitchen. While the price was very competitive, I was sold on the beauty and quality of the cabinets. Mike is a straight forward no BS kind of guy. I knew what I wanted and he worked w me in creating the perfect layout and design. He even custom built my island to make it more of a "furniture piece". It's absolutely gorgeous. I am a DIY kind of person and he had no problem w me doing much of the labor and prep work on my own, he was very flexible. I would without a doubt use this company again for any future projects. They do beautiful quality work.

Many thanks BlackDiamond14 for the awesome review. We really appreciate the kind words and are thrilled we stood out to you among our competitors. You're right, Mike is pretty no-nonsense - he's a great leader of our company in addition to being a great kitchen designer. Thanks again for choosing PKD. Until next time, be well!
We selected Platinum to renovate our kitchen based on competitive pricing and excellent online reviews. Further reference checks were also positive. But another big factor in choosing them was the "one stop shopping" concept they offer. The hassle and time of visiting several stores to select cabinets, fixtures, tile, knobs, and counters is eliminated by going to PKD's showroom where one of their designers can help with dozens of options. Your kitchen's details can be decided in less than two hours. Michelle did a fantastic job with our design layout and the up front communication from her team was great. Our work crew was a delight to work with. Mike and Dave Joiner are a father and son team who have a great group of subcontractors. Everyone was extremely trustworthy and nice, and I had no qualms about leaving my house if needed. Any reno concerns noted were addressed by Mike and Dave and their team. We had a snafu with a counter and some very minor cabinetry issues causing a delay, but everything was fixed and made right. We get so many compliments from our friends. We recommended Platinum to a nearby neighbor and after seeing our kitchen they also chose Platinum.

Dear Bobaret, What a great way to start a Friday! Thank you so much for your glowing review. You mentioned a number of things that are very important to us. We know how daunting it can be to take on a kitchen renovation project and we really try to remove as much of the stress and fear as we possibly can. It's not always possible to foresee every potential "opportunity" that can arise during a project but the dedication to setting things right is the core value of our business. It's nice to hear that the process was enjoyable and that you feel comfortable referring us to your neighbors - that's a true compliment and we greatly appreciate it. We hope you have a wonderful holiday season celebrating with friends and family in your new kitchen! With thanks, PKD Team
After many years of trying to figure out what to do with our outdated kitchen, we were referred to Platinum Kitchens by a neighbor. The design reconfiguration we struggled with on our own for years was solved by our PK designer within minutes of stepping into our home. We were so excited to get started after thinking that the only way to ever improve our kitchen was to up and move! From start to finish we were impressed with everyone we met with and especially with the guys sent to perform the work. It was clear that they were not only practiced in the "art" of kitchen renovation but took immense pride in their work and were joyful and often singing and joking with each other while doing so. We kind of missed them when they were done! We spent a little more than we planned by upgrading to quartz counter tops, but we have no regrets. Other than we should have done the project sooner!
Dear Kat5Cable, many thanks for your kind comments. We remember your original kitchen and it's unique design constraints. You've graciously given us a lot of the credit, but it really was a joint effort to get you to the end result! Collaborating with you was really fun and we're beyond thrilled that you are happy with your new kitchen. We also thank you for the many referrals you've given to your neighbors - it's the ultimate compliment. All the best to you and yours, PKD Team
My wife had done a lot if research in preparation for this project and was sure that she had selected the right company for the job when she called to have your company come out and pitch the new kitchen. Although we had a few concerns, I just want to say that your team came through for us 100% in dealing with our questions and concerns. We really appreciate the personal attention that Elizabeth gave to us and the fact that your company came through as advertised. Juan and his crew were an absolute God send for us. He put out minds at ease on his first visit and we were confidant that everything would be handled with professionalism and care. His crew did a great job and we love our new kitchen. Not only does Juan know the technical end of his job but he was very insightful and offered his opinions and experience in guiding us through the process and helping to select items that were not considered prior to the start of the project. Going with the wood floor was a great idea and the smooth ceiling and lights were definitely an option we had not considered that added greatly to the process. Juan is truly a great representative for your company. As I said, we love the finished product! Thank you for standing behind your promises of a good product.
Thanks EastCobbDad1! We really appreciate that you took the time to publicly share the positive experience you had with our company. You're right, Juan and crew are wonderful and they are truly an invaluable part of the PKD team. What a great work ethic they have! We're thrilled that you enjoyed working with us and that you love your new kitchen. If you need us in the future, we're here! All our best, PKD Team
A victim of their own success? We went with Platinum based on the strong reviews here on Kudzu, and our positive experience working with the sales office. The front end of the business is very organized and effective--the process of developing the order and receiving invoices was very organized and hassle-free. However, Platinum's capacity to deliver and install has apparently changed. The project managers/subcontractors that we got (they hire contractors, and do not employ their own employees to do the work, although their website may suggest otherwise) were overscheduled, and could not finish the job within the time promised. They demoed our kitchen on a Monday--and did not return for nearly a week to get started with the rest the job. Only after a number of phone calls to PKD did the subcontractors try to accelerate their work. However, this seemed to result in poor quality work. The tiling was crooked with uneven spacing; grout was inconsistent; hardwood floors were also uneven; the sink gasket had a leak; and 3 cabinet doors were warped and needed to be replaced. If you choose to go with PKD, be warned that their subcontractors are uneven; you may need to communicate more with the management side of the job to make sure the job is scheduled correctly. Although the front end is great--it's definitely been a more frustrating experience than we had hoped. Unfortunately, our experience did not live up to glowing reviews here.
Ms. Cho, you are correct, your job was scheduled out a month or two as is our standard practice in an attempt to avoid scheduling conflicts. Your project did experience unusual delays the first week and we take responsibility for that. We apologize for the inconvenience as it is not our norm. We had already planned to complete your project next week which will keep us within the 4-6 week timeframe we committed to. The latest set of pictures show what will be a beautiful kitchen very soon. We would also like to clarify that our project managers & installers are in fact only performing work for PKD, with the exception of plumbers & electricians. Sincerely, PKD Team
Great company and business model. Started with a very productive and cordial in-home, no cost consultation followed by a recommended design presentation at the company headquarters. These people "know kitchens" and optimal designs. My recommended design was tailored to my space, needs, and desires at the right price. Unlike many past remodeling projects, this project was speedy and relatively painless with minimal loss of kitchen use. The project manager and service crew were first class in all respects. They were skilled, fast, and remarkably fastidious. The whole process and finished product exceeded my expectations. "Exceeding expectations" is a catch phrase often thrown about but rarely fulfilled, but this company did just that for me.

What a wonderful way to start the week! Many thanks for the positive review of our business. We strive to make the entire process a remarkable experience. Thanks for your patronage and also for spending your valuable time posting such kind comments. PKD is here if you need us for anything now or in the future. Warm regards, The PKD Team
I almost never write reviews -- usually I don't have time (I am a busy mom of five!) or the service/product was as expected. But I just had to write this review. My new kitchen, thanks to Platinum Kitchens and Design (PKD), far exceeded my expectations! From start to finish, PKD gave us top notch service at an awesome price. The PKD people are both professional and friendly. A full kitchen remodel like we had is a hassle for a busy family, but they made it as painless as possible. With PKD you get professional design services (from the CAD design to getting help with choosing styles, colors, etc.) and professional installation. You even get little extras like actually going to the granite place and picking out your slab(s). Then you can even go to the fabricators and choose how you want the granite cut. You get to choose even the smallest details about the remodel. Everyone treated us like we were VIPs -- as if we were their most valued customer! I love showing off my new kitchen. Choose PKD and you won't regret it!!

Dear Mrs. Traldi - We are so appreciative of your review and thank you for taking time away from your busy day to post it. It's always our goal to provide an above & beyond experience with our company. We know that major renovation work in the epicenter of most homes is a true challenge and we try to make it as painless as we can through the Platinum Process. We enjoy what we do and we hope it shows. Cheers to many happy meals & memories in your new kitchen! Thanks again from all of us at PKD!
I can't say enough good things about Platinum Kitchens and our experience working with them. From the first meeting with Michelle down the last visit with Juan and his team, it's been a fantastic experience. And our kitchen turned out amazing!!! Juan and his team worked incredibly fast and efficient. From demo day to having a fully functioning kitchen was 3 weeks! I didn't think that was possible. Their attention to detail and their willingness to work with a nervous homeowner was off the charts! I really felt like they cared as much about my kitchen as I did. I would recommend Platinum to anyone!
