We've seen Dr. Rodbell for years now and could not think more highly of him, and our sons adore him and his staff. He is primarily a solo practitioner, though he does have backup physicians. He is so caring and kind, but also extremely well informed and professional (though he has a delightfully goofy sense of humor.) He's very supportive of breastfeeding, and since he has kids of his own at home he's able to really empathize with parental concerns and can offer realistic suggestions; we've made consultation appointments with him, without our sons, to discuss things like sleep issues and asthma management. He's a great diagnostician, too-- he diagnosed and successfully treated failure to thrive in a friend of mine's son that her pediatricians at a big local group had missed. He really explains what he's doing and looking for to you, and when my kids are sick, he has often been able to see us on the same day I call. When a little one is very sick he'll even call after hours to check on them. He trains many medical and nursing students, so you often get a "second opinion" from them and then he discusses their findings with you, too -- it's so helpful to get so much insight into your child's care. There are lots of excellent pediatricians in Atlanta, and the single provider model isn't for everyone, but we love that he knows our kids, knows our family, and knows his stuff, too.

Dr. Rodbell is an excellent physician with a nice office staff. My 11 week old daughter had RSV (a respiratory virus) and he even called our home to check on her (and us) in the evenings. A very thorough, professional, caring pediatrician. I would recommend him to anyone and we feel so fortunate to have found such a wonderful doctor for our newborn. The Shiers
