I've had Susan train a number of my dogs over the years to great success. From food aggression, leash aggression to basic training. Susan has always been a professional and been willing to work with my needs as well as my dogs. She's also given her time, free of charge, to many of the rescues I work with. I would highly recommend Ruff Diamond Dogs for your training needs.
Ruff Diamond Dogs came to my house on multiple occasions to provide training and obedient services.

I have known Susan for a couple of years. We became acquainted when I volunteered at Canine Assistants. She was generous with her time in assisting me learning how to train service dogs. Then I got my own puppy two months ago. She has done wonders to help me understand and work with my puppy. I am sure something went wrong in the other review but I am sure it is not as reported and that there are two sides to every story. And I know how much Susan loves dogs -- probably more than people -- so I am sure she was devastated when this happened. There are 28 other reviews her that love her. And I know the dogs love her.

" Called this trainer for basic obedience and dog aggression issues. During the 1st consultation visit she created a nightmare for me and my dog ! After explaining to her that my dog is strong and reactive to neighbors barking dogs, she put my dog on her long leash. Leash got caught around my dog's leg as she pulled and even through his screams and yelping ,she pulled and tore his ACL (ligament in knee) ! My dog was in my fenced yard ,there was no place for him to go so no need to pull leash. Two neighbors witnessed the negligence but this woman denies any wrong doing. I now have Vet bills for surgery, she refuses to take responsibility for. SHE is supposed to be the expert and did not assess the situation causing extreme harm to my dog. PLEASE read this carefully, this "trainer" caused bodily harm and excruciating pain to my dog !!! TORE HIS ACL !! If you do not want unexpected heart ache or medical expenses as a result of trainer negligence and carelessness stay away from this trainer !! She refuses to pay for any of the bills claiming she does not have money. Not insured or Bonded ! Horrible experience . I have never written a bad review before but I want to warn other dog lovers that this person that calls herself a Dog trainer could become your nightmare too."

We have two female pit bull mixes who had suddenly starting fighting. The fights were so bad that we had a several thousand dollars vet bill and we're unsure if we would be able to keep both of our girls in the same house anymore. Susan was our last hope and we are so happy she entered our lives. Because of her program our girls love each other again and are getting along just like they did before they started fighting. It was great because Susan came into our home and gave us weekly projects to do with the girls. Susan gave us hope when we were at our last straw

I was looking for a trainer who would come to our house and help with our specific situation (rather than one-size-fits-all group training). Susan was excellent and helped us get our puppy off to good start. She has also been great with follow-up on new issues that come up. Highly recommend!

Susan was absolutely great! She took our 3-year-old miniature poodle and taught her to pay attention and obey! She took two oblivious owners and turned them into trainers (kinda). We love you!

Susan Howard is the best dog trainer in this area! I have had experience with other trainers, but no one like Susan. You can tell instantly how much she loves animals and how great she is with working with dogs, the owners, as well as all children in the household. She uses humane and highly effective techniques that make training your dog truly a fun experience for all. The most interesting part is that even though she is the best trainer that I have worked with, she is also the most affordable. Her prices are at least half of the trainers in this area! You can tell that she is not doing this just for the money, she truly wants to reach as many people as possible with her affordable rates. I wish that I had only worked with her from the start. My veterinarian had recommended her because I was having difficulty training my puppy, and I felt overwhelmed because I have a five-year-old and one-year-old at home. Thankfully, they put me in touch with Susan. She has shown us how to make it work for our entire family! I am in her puppy training course, and I plan to take additional courses as well. It is possible to make it happily through the puppy and toddler years simultaneously with the right person teaching you! I will always recommend her without hesitation!

Susan is so easy to work with. It is so obvious that it is the owner who needs the training and she is skilled in how to do that. You cannot bet the price for someone to come to your home in the dog's environment to train the household.

Susan is awesome. She was refered to us by our Vet. She loves her clients like they are her own animals. I have refered her to several friends and they also speak very highly of Susan. I also use Susan when I go out of town. She has great rates and is very flexible for last minute changes. THANKS SUSAN!!

We found Susan through a friend when we were brand new first time puppy parents. Susan was great with patiently answering ALL of our newbie questions. Our Cavachon puppy responded so well to Susan. Each session left us with new information and tips to practice with Ziva. We would highly recommend Susan and Ruff Diamond Dogs.

Susan did a wonderful job training our new puppy! She was a pleasure to work with and made sure that everyone moment with our dog was valuable. I loved how Susan made sure that our children were a part of the training process. We couldn't be happier with our results. Thank you Susan!

Susan was so wonderful to work with and did a great job with our new adopted dog! Her prices are great, and more affordable than comparable places. I was worried that we would not be able to keep our new dog due to the problems he had when we adopted him. After a few sessions with Susan, I am confident that he will be a great companion for our kids. We are very grateful to Susan for all her help!

Susan had her work cut out for her when she began training my St. Bernard pup. It didn't take long to realize that her patience and kind nature were exactly what it would take to teach both owner and pup how to achieve the best results. I would highly recommend Ruff Diamond Dogs to fellow dog owners who want to get a basic understanding of how to train your dog so that he/she is more enjoyable to be around. Thanks Susan!
