Parents beware... Unfortunately I'm limited to only 250 words to this review so just to make things short. My wife and I took my 6 year old to Dr Scoma to have him checked out. We were told his teeth were in such bad shape he needed 6 crowns and fillings... My jaw dropped and we couldn't believe it. To make a long story short. He did the work, split it up in 2 trips so our insurance would pay for it. A year later one of the crowns fell off and took him back to have it put back on and we were told his teeth are infected and the infection caused the crown to fall off. I took my son to my dentist and had an exam...NOTHING WRONG. I called Dr Scoma's office and told them, and he said my dentist wasn't a Pediatric Dentist, so he didn't know what to look for. So I took my son to Grand Dentistry (Pediatric Dentist) in Escondido and they took x rays and and exam...NOTHING WRONG with my sons teeth. Dr Scoma is making money by charging for crowns and fillings on childrens teeth that don't need the work. He knows that kids teeth aren't permanent so there isn't any thing to lose... Problem is... IT'S WRONG. I hope people read this warning and take your kids to get a 2nd opinion.

My young daughter (and I) had a great experience with this office. All the staff we encountered were friendly, professional, and kid-centered. The office is very cute and the TV's on the ceiling, headphones and sunglasses are a perfect way to get a kid to sit still and actually enjoy going to the dentist! Dr Scoma is personable and gave my daughter helpful advice (she is 4) about the best way to brush her teeth! Only issue was that the visit was quite expensive. Overall, I highly recommend.

We started seeing Dr. Scoma, mostly his staff, last year. His office has flat screens above the dental chairs, so my child can watch "Madagascar" while he gets his teeth clean. Dr. Scoma comes in, checks teeth for about 10 seconds and leaves. The staff is warm, thorough, and caring. It isn't a "scary" dental place at all!
