    to say that their service is sub-par is an understatement. when you ask them to come out and treat the lawn, they never do. when you ask them NOT to come out - they come out. they make their money by overselling their products and services up front, and then when you really need them to treat the lawn - they're so backed up it takes weeks for them to show. their m.o. is to create as many new accounts as possible, and then once your signed - to h*ll with your lawn. i told them i had fungus and weeds growing in my yard - they never came out. they burned my lawn last summer after it was finally looking very good. needless to say, i fired them. my lawn maintenance man does a MUCH better job so i'm using him. i'm giving them one star only because it's not possible to give anything lower (such as negative values).

    I have never seen a company perform so poorly. They will scorch your grass, not fix weeds, and charge you for services you did not order. I just got off the phone with them fighting over services I did not order. They are very unprofessional and don't know what they are doing. Their internal systems kept telling their techs to come out and fertilize my grass for services I wasn't ordering. My grass is very obviously scorched. Do the techs see this and care? Nope. They spray away anyway. In addition, they will leave your bills on your neighbors homes as well. My neighbor had to walk my bill over twice already. They came out today to perform a service and the grass was still wet from the morning dew. I can see exactly where the guy went in my yard. Take a guess if he walked around the entire yard... I fired them and got them to credit my bills. I would highly recommend not signing up for them.

    Bill people for things they never order

    I have never been a customer of Scotts LawnService and have never ordered any service from them. Start from 5/2012 they keep sending me bills for some lawn service that they claim they did for me. I called their customer service several times about the bills, and every time the customer service person says it's an error on their system and that she will remove the error and that I can ignore the bills. Even so, the bills keep comming. And today, I receive a mail from a collection agency - American Profit Reovery - saying that Scotts LawnService requested them to invole and demamd me to pay the money I do not own. Anyone has any idea what I should I do now to deal with this bad company and get them off me?

    I was using another lawn service company, and was satisfied. Scotts Lawnservice made an offer that was priced right. That would have been the case if they actually did what they said they were going to do. Treatment for winter weeds did not work, technician called to say he would return, he never did, called office to speak to a manager, one never called back, emailed corporate office, never heard back from them, stay away from this company.

    Dishonest and not to be trusted... I would not recommend doing business with Scotts Lawn Service. The company tried cramming in five service calls with in the last three and a half month of the year at $45 a visit. When they only recommend eight to nine visits in a full year. They also put down an additional chemical, with another charge, with out permission.

    Arrived for first treatment. Didn't know I was watching fom inside. Took a couple of swipes at front yard. No sides or backyard which they were hired to do. Rolled up his hose and then I went out side. He told me his boss told him not to spray our whole yard for the price and measurements they had quoted.Fired them immediately.Could not believe what I saw or heard from these people.

    Interestingly enough I started using Scotts after discovered the lazy TruGreen person wasn't treating my whole lawn. Scotts was good at first but lately I have been unhappy with their service. The first issue I had is when they applied the Lime treatment to my lawn WITHOUT my permission and wanted to stick me with the bill. After 2 calls, that issue was resolved. However about 6 weeks ago, I got a call from Scotts "recommending" a Fungus treatment, I told him I wasn't interested yet it took me nearly 5 minutes of telling him "no" for him to get the message. The final straw for me was when 3 weeks later, he call me AGAIN asking me to get the Fungus treatment. AGAIN I tell him no, then he attempts to force me to purchase the treatment, when I tell him no for the final time, he gets an attitude and says "ok, sir good luck". To be fair, they do a pretty good job with the lawn, but I don't appreciate having them trying to force me to purchase overpriced treatments I don't want in the first place. One "No" should be enough, but somehow these guys just don't get it. As soon as I find another company to do my lawn, I'm getting rid of Scotts.

    I have used Scott's lawn service for almost two years and I am completely disappointed. To start, My yard is mostly Bermuda with a fescue mixed here and there. We all know that Bermuda is very heat and drought tolerant, exactly what you need in Atlanta. So why were they overseeding fescue and trying to kill the Bermuda? Because they only have fescue. If I want to overseed the Bermuda I have to go out and purchase the seed myself. What--after I just paid you $700? The main reason I called them was to get rid of crabgrass, which I swear I have more of since they started.My neighbors yards look better than mine. Guess what? None of them use Scott's. I do not want them near my yard. The money would have been better spent on landscaping.

    After 3 applications and $100 my lawn looks worse then it did when they started. I called to complain and they sent someone out who told me I needed fungus application for $55. I told them they can't control weeds and they won't be able to control Fungus either. They charged me $31.00 for the fertilization but there is not one granule of fertalizer in my lawn or driveway??? These people only want to get you to sign up, then they tell you it takes 1 year to see results. YOU WILL NEVER SEE RESULTS! Don't waste your money.

    I've used Scotts Lawn service for three years now and my lawn has gotten progressively worse. Weeds have taken over. My neighbors don't use any service and they have no weeds. The first year they oversprayed and killed the 49 hostas I planted as a boarder to the back yard. That cost me a pretty penny not to mention the time it took to do all the planting. They are supposed to call before they come out, so I can put my dog up. More than half the time they would call and I would put the dog up for the day and they would not show. Then they would show up without calling and not treat the yard because the dog was out.

    Our lawn has never looked worse since we started using Scott's Lawn service. Our grass is full of weeds and the customer service people are rude, just make excuses, and refuse to solve the problem. Huge customer service problem!!!

    Have used them for years, and had some good luck in the past with them, but am ready for a smaller company that doesn't over provide. I feel I got too many treatments in the past year, including a fertlizer treatment after the drought declaration. Too expensive; bad advice; and couldn't provide good explanation for large area of grass kill.

    Poor hit an miss service. Yard has not looked this bad since it was a new construction. Spotty applications, no applications. Poor customer service and nothing but excuses. Don't waste your money.

    Like many others here, I haven't been impressed with either the service or the quality of the work. This was my first year on the service - I figured it has to be better than me doing next to nothing. Well, I was wrong. Seemed like everyhing they did made the yard look worse and the weeds better. Top it off with the uncoordinated service and constant excuses - "it will get better in time", "you didn't have a pre-emergent applied before we started", etc. I think I'm done with them.
