I'll save everyone from the LONG, drama-filled, fraudulent experience that we had with Owner Danny and his technician Tyler at Sears Garage Door. But, let's just say that it started with a mysteriously cut cable costing us an additional $89.95 and ended with our credit card receiving over $500 in fraudulent charges that very same day. I would avoid these guys like the PLAGUE. Obviously, we've taken our case to the better business bureau and the police. Willing to fight this one to the end, for a business owner to have so little class is just appalling. Use another company and be sure to watch the technician while they work!

I asked the guy from searsgaragedoors to fix the spring. Then he said the rollers should be replaced. After replacing all the ten rollers with only two in bad conditions, he charged $169.95 for replacing rollers in addition to the $325 for springs.

I responded to a Sears ad saying they would "Match Any Competitor's Price". I wanted a new door, and instead they sent a repairman who couldn't repair the job, but charged $200 for the visit. Then they sent another sales person, who couldn't come close to matching the quote for a new door that I had (I had several, by the way). I simply wanted their 12 month interest free financing (also advertised). In a nutshell, I didn't get my new door, I was out a minimum of $200, and they grossly neglected their mailed advertisement. I will never deal with Sears again. Disappointed!

Got an estimate to replace our garage door in Fairfax County VA. Sears price was $1470 for the bottom of the line model all in. Today got a quote from a local garage door business, two steps up in quality from door Sears quoted and $915 all in. Local rep was much more informative than the Sears estimator. I know Sears outsources but whho is making the obscene profits here? Would never call Sears again. What a rip off!

We had our garage door replaced by Sears since the first one worked well. About 3 months later the clip came out of the mechanism and had to be fixed. The people were going to charge us $75.00 to fix their poor installation. We had to call another company fix the problem; the chain was too loose and the clip had to be replaced.

I just recently had my garage door replaced by Sears. A salesman came out to discuss options, he was very easy to deal with. The prices were about the same as other companies I had called. I had to wait about 4 weeks for the door to arrive in the desired color but I knew this going into it so it wasn't a problem. I was called when it was available with a suggested appointment, we worked out a date and the gentleman who installed called me in the morning to let me know the exact time. He arrived right on time, took away the old door and installed all the new equipment within 4 hours. He was very efficient and a pleasure to deal with. It really was an easy transaction all the way around.

I had one of my garage door openers (Craftsman 1/2 hp) broken. The lady over the phone was very nice when I called sears garage doors, the price to replace it is $425 (w/o tax), and she suggested it can be fixed. When a technician from SearsGarageDoors came to home, he asked me to sign the paper right away. Once I signed the paper, he looked at the opener and said it can not be fixed. To fix it, you have to replace the motherboard etc and it costs more than $320, and it doesn't guarantee it will work. I said then go ahead to replace the opener. He said he had to add an another metal piece on the door for another $150. He won't replace the opener without adding this additional metal piece. I said why the lady didn't tell me on the phone about this additional piece. I even called the lady to confirm. She said she didn't know it over the phone. I asked the technician why he didn't tell me that before asking me to sign the paper (he should have told me before asking me to sign the paper). Now this guy is the worst service man you can have, he only answered my questions "yes" or "not", no explanation. I paid him $138 ($129 + tax) and sent him away without doing anything. I said I'd write a review for your service, he replied "go ahead, we have plenty!".

We recently had our new garage door and opener installed by the Sears team in San Diego. Our Sales person came out as scheduled and gave a us quote within 20 minutes and left. No pressure just to say that we would be very happy with the quality and service from Sears and to call him when we were ready to proceed. We decided to go ahead with Sears and spoke to Debbie in the San Diego office. Overall, we were very happy with the Sears team in San Diego. They were professional, on time, and very responsive. Debbie was very helpful and professional and the 2 installers on the day of (Tobie and Mike) were professional and fast. So..would highly recommend San Diego Sears Garage team to anyone. Best, Tim and Stacy

I called Sears Garage Doors to have my garage door serviced. It had become noisy, and needed a 'tune-up.' I had my door serviced, and garage pads installed in 2 days (the installer had to order the pads.) Friendly, on-time, courteous, and reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend to anyone needing work on their garage door(s).

UPstanding group which performed well. I had a broken door, which needed replacement. They made it workable overnight, and replaced the door the next morning within half a day of my phone call. They came out originally after dinner. No other company was even open. You don't find service like that any more. Plus they had a nice carriage house door perfectly fitted to my door frame at a competitive price. And the door has a lifetime warranty on it. LIfetime!

This customer was not our customer. We are Sears Garage Doors. We specialize in repair, sales and installation of only garage doors and openers. This customer was serviced by another division of Sears Home Services, which is primarily focused on siding, windows and roofing. They use contractors and sometimes these contractors cut corners. We don't cut corners and we don't use contractors. We also guarantee our work and we have the best guarantee on the market today. If you really want the best, call us and look at the other great reviews we have below.
I called Sears for an estimate for a garage door. I was told the prices on the phone and received good customer service by Sally on the phone. That is where my good experience ended. I scheduled a "pre-site" appointment for 9 am. Well 9am rolls around and no one shows up and no calls. I called the office at 10:30am wondering where the guy was and was told "he forgot his drivers license expired today, so he is getting his license." Are you kidding me??? He could of called to notify me of the delay. I was calling to say don't even bother coming....but Sally reassured me he was on his way. So 7 hours after he was suppose to show up he did. We have an old garage door so some things needed to be worked on. He was absolutely NOT willing to do what 3 other companies said to do...which was to build down the opening and use a smaller door. He said we had to put the opener on the side with was going to add about $350.00 to the price. I asked if we could get the estimate for the side opener AND building down the opening...but he wasn't even willing to do that. We choose a better company and have a beautiful garage door. When the guy showsed up he wasn't in a sears truck he has his own company. If it was this much problems just getting a guy to do measurements..I couldn't imagine what would happen during installation..if there were problems. Very dissapointing...I figured with a big company like Sears I would get some professionalism..but I guess not.

Keep in mind that Care-ahhh is not a customer. Ahh what Care-ahhh failed to mention is that she stood us up 2 times before. that's right, we drove to her home and waited for her no show, 2 times before. Needless to say, we weren't in a rush to go out to another stand up. So when the technician realized his license was expiring, (ok, his bad) the dispatcher decided to give that errand priority, since it had become a legal matter. We called her and told her we were running late, and that riled her. Remember, care-ahhh never used us, since she didn't like our proposal for her low headroom condition, which in the end would have been less time consuming and less expensive for her, and would have given her home a better look. but she was quite angry no matter what we proposed. If she had become a customer, she would have been as pleased with our professionalism and our doors as all the other customers indicate in their review on this site.
Sears came out and gave us an estimate on Friday and were here on Monday morning to put in our new garage door and opener, the job took less time than they estimated and we love our new door!
