If you are into preaching how extreme and awesome you are, just like an ad for SEGA in the 90's, you should drag your friends to this fine establishment. Not only do they carry a concrete selection of vegan friendly health food but they carry beauty products too. You can exemplify your vegan-ness by showing your friends how your new lifestyle is not that hard to abide by and that you are not crazy. Sorry, I'm getting a bit personal here. The selection is great. The staff is really friendly. Its always semi busy. The prices are up there, but that is to be expected from a niche store. Whenever I'm in the area, I stop by to get something random and interesting to satisfy my vegan ways.

Sevananda continuously surprises me by how much less natural care products cost as compared to Whole Foods or other grocery stores. and their sales are awesome.

I would love for Sevananda to be closer to me, but I will make the trip because I know the owners and management care about what is for sale on their shelves. I get the feeling that they really feel personally responsible for the quality and value of the food and nutritional items and it shows. They are even concerned what impact their vendors have on the environment. As a person concerned about what I feed my body, I am glad to know that such a place exists. It's good to know that the food you are eating comes from a farm that uses natural methods of farming as opposed to harsh chemicals. From the prepared foods to the bulk dry goods to the herb department, I find friendly and helpful staff members that make shopping there a pleasant experience, even if it's crowded. I have recommended Sevananda to many people and will continue to as long as I keep shopping there.

At Sevananda's you'll find the types of things stocked at Whole Foods but the prices are generally better. The bulk bins are especially good. What will be available in their produce department can be unpredictable so it can be difficult to plan a menu and be guaranteed that they'll have everything, but if you pick produce that's in season you'll usually be okay.
