I ordered a pair of escrima from Shen Martial arts. They took forever to ship. When they arrived, one stick was cracked. Contacting them was impossible. They never returned my phone calls. When they finally did answer the phone, they said send them back, so I did. Once again, they never contacted me. I left message after message. I finally reached them again. They asked me if I wanted replacement or refund. I asked what they had. They said they would call their supplier and get back to me. Silly me - I thought they would actually call me back. Never did. I called them and left a message demanding a refund. They called me back and said they had info on other escrima sticks. I called them and left them a message saying no, a refund. They said it would be done by the end of the day Friday - guess what - no refund. If it's not there by Monday, I'm submitting a paypal claim. Terrible merchandise, and even worse customer service.

A little under a year ago I was injured by an IED in Iraq. Since then I have under gone 7 months of treatment with varying degrees of success. I began to seek out a Kung Fu school that taught the intellectual, spiritual, and traditional as well as the martial aspects of the art. I had originally studied Than Vo Dao Kung Fu from a friend during my first deployment to Iraq and I had studied Tae Kwon Do as a child and then again in college, but I had never completed my course of study in either art. So in addition to looking for an alternative form of therapy for my injury I was looking for a school that I felt comfortable with making a commitment to. I found that at Shen Kung Fu Academy. I was immediately received and felt welcomed by the instructor and more importantly the other students. A testament to Sifu Mario's leadership and teaching is the manner in which the senior students assist and enable the junior students. I am so impressed by this school that I am rerouting my entire career path to further enable my study of this art at Shen Kung Fu Academy.

I am honored to work with and share this great art with those who put their lives on the line for their country. Traditional kung fu is the art of the warrior, a path of discipline, honor, ethics, values, of respect for life, of defending peace and service of others. It is my objective that you will grow in poise, harmony, in knowledge of yourself, as well as in health, physical and mental abilities. This is the true and highest purpose of traditional kung fu and what we strive to impart to all of our students child to adult in our teachings. Thank you, Sifu Mario.
