Dr. Ewart a partner to Dr. Smith says that if you see a doctor who is board certified you will be assured of seeing a competent and safe doctor. What defines what is safe and competent. Dr. Smith who is a board certified doctor does not feel he has to take the time to examine, talk or even spend the allotted time set aside to see a patient who pays for an appointment with him. He does not think it is important or necessary to do the job he has been paid to do. How can a doctor who has no time or interest in his patient or no time or interest in doing his job - be considered safe or competent. Just because a doctor is board certified does not assure you of seeing a safe or competent doctor. Dr. Ewart's own partner, Dr. Smith has made his statement to be untrue. Grant you most doctors who are board certified doctors are good doctors that are safe and competent. But unfortunately, Dr. Smith who has around 3 times more experience than Dr. Ewart does not think it is important or necessary - or perhaps he has forgotten that a board certified doctor should be safe and competent.
