I've been to see Dr. Kraus several times. Each time, I feel that I am rushed in and out of there. While I appreciate not being stuck in an office too long, I also think he should take time to listen to you and explain processes. He does not. I've never had any significant skin issues though. Recently, my fiancÚ went and had to have numerous places frozen off and a biopsy done. Dr. Kraus was in and out of the room super-fast, did not explain why he was freezing certain areas and did not discuss with him any prevention techniques. He was given 4 prescriptions and we had to spend several minutes with the pharmacist just figuring out what all of this was. This week, he receives a call from Dr. Kraus' office and is diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma. His assistant, Frank, who called to tell him this barely spoke English and stumbled over all his words. He was quite flippant and uninformative. When you are calling to say the word "carcinoma" to someone, I think a clear explanation of what this means and next steps is appropriate. I would not recommend this Doctor or office.

I had a serious itchy skin problem. It was so bad I would wake up in the middle of the night scratching. I went to four dermatologists in the Atlanta area. I got four different diagnosis and different prescription medications. None of them worked. I was losing so much sleep at night, that my job suffered. I even fell asleep while my hair stylist was cutting my hair. I was miserable. A friend told me about Dr Kraus and his "formulas". Dr Kraus prescribed me a cream that smelled to high heaven but it worked! Within 1 week I was 100% improved! Thanks to Dr Kraus and his awesome medical staff!!!

Office staff and nurse were great but doctor was TOO FAST and hardly even listened to my concerns. I will not return. Here are a few portions of the complaint letter I sent: I have been experiencing some skin problems with my face causing me to itch and swell anytime a cry or perspire. This has greatly impacted my quality of life and ability to exercise/play sports and I was hoping to get some answers and suggestions from Dr. Kraus. He simply said that I had sensitive skin and that I should take antihistamines (which I'd indicated on my paperwork that I'm allergic to.) When I pointed out that I was allergic- his response was to basically avoid what was setting me off (which in my case is sweating, crying, and being outdoors - not so easy to avoid those things.) This is not a problem I've experienced my whole life and has only surfaced in the past few years- I would have at least liked to discuss any other potential causes of my problems rather than just using the sweeping generalization of "sensitive skin". Aside from the mole check at the beginning of this appointment, it was a complete waste of my co-pay and insurer's reimbursement money as I'll still have to see another doctor to get my skin problems addressed. Having to use their pharmamcy only is strange too- I didn't even understand what he prescribed so I didn't fill them. The speed at which he tried to rush through my appointment was jaw dropping- never experienced anything like this with any other doctor!

Dr. Kraus has treated me for pre-cancerous skin lesions and a toenail fungus. He is very thorough, and I have had very good results from his treatment. The office staff is very efficient, and I have never spent a lot of time in the waiting room. I would highly recommend him.

When my daughter was 12, she went to Dr. Kraus for help with what was becoming severe acne. We realize that treating this affliction isn't as simple as taking a pill and calling the doctor in the morning. It's a long-term treatment. Dr. Kraus's attention to detail, kind attitude, and amazing treatment has saved my daughter many years of agony having to deal with the scars acne could have created. Dr. Kraus is a very good man and an excellent doctor.

I've been suffering from perioral dermatitis (I now know) for about two years now. I saw Dr. Kraus in Nov. of 2004 and he told me I had eczema and something else, then prescribed me two types of pills, a bottle of Liquimat, a "special" cream you could only get at the on-site pharmacy and a "special" face wash you could only get at the on-site pharmacy. Over a year later, my face was still screwed up. I went to a derma on Clairmont road last week and was properly diagnosed, and prescribed only *one* round of antibiotics. It's finally clearing up. I'd pass on the Dermatology Associates of Atlanta unless you are wanting botox or tattoo removal (which seems to be the more pricey speciatlities this place deals in).
