In October, 2008, I went to this store looking for a pellet stove. I was asked a few questions about my home and quickly directed to a particular model. At one point, I asked how a model like this one is better than what I would find at Lowes. The salesman looked at me and said very sincerely that I SHOULD shop at Lowes. I was taken aback by this and I asked why. He said that if I didn't know the answer I wasn't allowed to shop at his family owned, heat-and-soul-poured-into business. He said, "I own this place, and I don't need you. I have more business than I need." My jaw was on the floor as he walked away from me. I tried to explain that I only wanted to know what kind of service they offered and how the quality of their stoves was superior to the ones at Lowes. He refused to re-engage with me, and he began helping another customer. He asked me to leave. I couldn't believe it. The Stove Place will not get my hard earned money, and I hope they won't get yours either.
