Sunbrook Academy is the only place I would take either of my sons. They have been going there for 5 and 2 years respectively. The owner, directors, and teachers have gone a long way to accommodate our special needs. They truly care about my sons and their development. We have looked at all of the possibilities in Woodstock east of 575 and they stand above all. There are some very classless centers out there. They, as well as us, consider us and our boys as family!

I had to take my 16-month-old son for 4 weeks over there. I thought I will drop him off for couple hours on the first day. When I called later to find out how he was, was told that he was doing great and loving it in there, so I let my guard down and he stayed there for about 4 hours. Picked him up and found out that he was crying the whole time and fell asleep exhausted from crying. Any time I called to ask how my son was doing, I would always get "he is doing great", which was not true because when I came to pick him up, the teachers would tell me that he would break out and cry often during the day. Second week into going there he would cry as soon as I strapped him into the car seat. There were 2 permanent teachers and they were both were very nice, but there were times that they both were gone at the same time and there would be 2 completely different people and it does not help to small children to feel secure and comfortable. It was very hard for both of us, especially for my son; he was used to being at home with my mom and having 2 adults per 12-16 toddlers is just not enough. If I knew what I know now, I would not have taken my son to this place, but the reviews were mostly good and I thought I will try. They are not equipped to have online access to the see you child during the day, in case you are wondering.

Choosing a daycare was an extremely stressful thing to do. Sunbrook made the decision easier than I thought they could. My daughter has been in Sunbrook at Trickum for 2 years now. Sunbrook has not only met my expectations, they have exceeded them. My child is bright, perceptive and I am amazed at how much she learns every week in her "classroom". Many people comment to me how "advanced" they think she is in language and other skills. Of course, I'd like to think it's all me, but honestly I think it has a lot to do with how much she is taught at Sunbrook. The management at Sunbrook @ Trickum is above par, always patient and concerned about any issues I have. They have a secure facility and it has always been clean and safe. I will say that the turnover of staff is a small issue, but that is par for the course in this industry. I know they have less turnover than many other centers. The teachers are all very knowledgable and caring with the kids. I can be an overprotective mom sometimes, but have been pleased with the care my child receives at Sunbrook.
