My girlfriend and I go to Sweet Melissa's about once per month, usually on Sunday mornings because they have live music. The food is usually very good and it's a fun time. Today I was very disappointed that when I asked for real butter for my rye toast they told me they don't buy real butter anymore and all that was available was some imitation butter spread -- ick, gross. Really guys? We can't even get real butter at a breakfast place? How much more could it cost? Maybe you could charge extra for it! Honestly, ruined the whole meal. This next thing is more of a suggestion than a complaint. It was such a nice day that we ended up sitting outside and couldn't hear the music. We asked the waitress if they could leave the door open and she said that she would love to but the health department doesn't allow it because flies get in the restaurant -- not unreasonable. But it would be great if they installed a simple scree door so all the tables outside could hear the music too, weather permitting.

Out of all the breakfast places in Decatur this one really stands out! The omelets are great, and you can pick your own fillings. Homefries, waffles, and pancakes are all good too. The Tahini Tofu is excellent, even for non-tofu types. Service is friendly and personable.
