I was reccommened to them from frieds that have used them for years and love them..... they found out stuff about Louie that his old VET DIDN't know or want to know... he was give shots and pills every 3 months when the old owner had him, now since his surgery at SAH, he doesn't take anything and loves his special food U/D.... Too bad all vets aren't this detailed, loving and caring.....and Louie doesn't mind going.....he loves the attention he gets.....

So, I took my dog in to get a check on the odor from his mouth. After waiting for 30 minutes our doctor comes out and attempted to view the problem. "pwew" was his response while his very ambitious assistant tried to hold his mouth open. Giving way they parted and I held his mouth open and our answer was that he needed his teeth cleaned. My dog is 15. We gave all leading attempts of what could have caused this and was we felt that we were being ignored. What was suggested was another return trip for a teeth cleaning, though we had to find out later it was a tumor since Taz had to be sedated before getting his teeth cleaned. $1500 later, that we cannot afford, my dog has one year to live and they couldn't extract all the cancer. We have had good experiences with Sweetapple in the past, and I understand that when people get comfortable with each other we let our professional guards down. I will still be a client, but I feel that I just needed to be understood.

As the manager in the previous review, I feel there needs to be some clarification. When I asked what was wrong with the groom, it was to be able to understand how the problem could be fixed. For example, if the coat was left too long, it could be shortened, but if too short, there is not much room to work with. I asked her to bring the pet back in, but she said she was trimming the ears herself. I remember our conversation very well. I was not here and did not see Bentley after the groom, but told Ms Couch that the staff said another client in the reception area remarked that she thought the dog was cute. I was not trying to defend the groom since I had not seen it myself. Ms Couch went on to say our location was too far for her to travel and she would be going elsewhere for everything. I even have that noted in the chart. It was at the end of our conversation that I offered to forward her medical recomds to another veterinarian since she had said she would need to find someone closer and grooming facilities require vaccine history. It was not meant to drive her away or upset her. There was road construction that day and she decided to take a detour home to avoid the delay. The groomer was an experienced groomer, but we did not hire her based on this experience. (In order to post a response, I had to provide a rating)

I recently had my pet boarded while my family went to the beach for a long weekend. As another reviewer mentioned, the bookeeping here is not great. I had dates for shots and info from prior visits stragely disappear when I went to pick up my pet. The level of care seems acceptable but $500 to board a dog for a long weekend? The added on fees were almost 4 times the boarding cost! Really, $46 to give my dog a bath??? One would atleast expect a phone call saying - "here is where we are with your charges, would you like to break this up into two visits?" If you are on a budget or have a family to feed, I would recommend finding a different vet. As a small business owner, I know - and they should know that tripling someones planned invoice without notification (or approval) is just plain wrong.

These wonderful, compassionate people gave my 15 year old dog extra years. They have always given the best care to all of our animals and we wouldn't dream of going anywhere else. Thank you, Sweetapple, for all you have done and continue to do for us!

We adopted a stray as a kitten (the kindest, sweetest cat) and recently took her to Sweetapple (who originally spayed and gave shots to her) when she showed signs of a cold. They told me she had an upper respiratory cold and was given antibiotics. She was ok otherwise. Within 15 minutes of leaving, she died. I rushed her back to them, but there was nothing they could do. The vet said she suffocated because of the meds. The meds caused foaming in her mouth, which they assured me before leaving it was perfectly normal. It's clear they are not capable of giving proper care. They even had the audacity to ask me for payment for her cremation. Please, for the sake of your family pet, go elsewhere.

Wow, for a professional (and I use the words lightly), they are the most unorganized and unprepared clinic I've ever dealt with. After failing to fax records multiple times, I was told that the records had been removed...and after multiple persons spoke with them, SUDDENLY out of thin air, some records get faxed....SOME....I have 2 dogs, why records for one??? I looked more on Kudzu and found a much better vet...thanks anyway sweet apple...

They missed finding the large tumor in our dog. After several rounds of pricey antibiotics and two xrays of just his leg, couldn't tell us why his leg was so swollen. He was not doing well at all, so we got a second opinion. The other vet found the problem immediately after a blood test and an xray of his posterior area. Our dog was euthanized the next day.

I have used them for 5 years and was quite satisfied until recently. Almost all the staff has changed. Last visit on 4/4/08 was with a new vet. He wasn't personable at all, couldn't be bothered to introduce himself, took my dog to the back for his shots. The dog I took to the vet was very different to the one I brought home. He is now very timid & acting as though he is hurting. Not at all comfortable using them again & am monitoring my dog's behavior carefully. If things don't improve soon, I'll be taking him to another vet to try & determine if he was injured or abused during his visit. Not happy at all right now.

Came in with two dogs two small kids and dispite all of OUR chaos everything went great. The staff was very helpful and understanding. They did do all the exam and shots in back which worked out great for us. Afterward the vet came in and explained everything and answered any questions. I would recomend them to anyone.

waited over 30 minutes - pet became "anxious". Doctor did not introduce himself, then wanted to take pet "in back" without me. I did not allow that. Doc came in room with vac. shots and proceeded to sit and wait for pet to come to him. When that didn't happen, doc got on floor and gave shots. That was it. They wanted to charge me for an exam - which I pointed out did not happen. Doc did not look in ears, at teeth or eyes or feel bones. Very rude office help argued with me about doc giving exam "in back", when in fact I didn't let pet out out of my sight. I hope others will not allow such rude behavior with this vet office. If you notice, all reviews are over a year ago.

This used to be a great hospital under the former owner and vet Dr. Tribby. Now that he sold the business, it has gone steadily downhill in the following years. We brought our dog to a vet that was supposedly a specialist in her illness, only to receive poor service and evidence of a sloppy job (A surgery report with blatant typos all over the page.)
