Tarik M. Husain, MD, is in an elite class of only a handful of plastic surgeons holding quadruple board certifications, including plastic/aesthetic, hand and upper extremity, and orthopaedic surgery, with a subspecialty in sports medicine. Dr. Husain's primary office is in the heart of Miami Beach. He also has additional offices in South Miami, Pembroke Pines, and Aventura, Florida.
Dr. Husain earned his medical degree from the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine in Los.. Angeles. He then went to Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu to complete his orthopaedic surgery residency.
Dr. Husain spent 13 years working as a United States Army orthopaedic surgeon, caring for injured soldiers in Iraq, Afghanistan, Korea, and Germany. He proudly served as Deputy Commander, second in charge, for the 212th Combat Support Hospital.
After his time in the military, Dr. Husain pursued a residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Miami. From there, he completed a fellowship in hand and microsurgery at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, training with some of the most revered surgeons in the country.
Dr. Husain has a reputation far beyond southern Florida, with patients flying in from all over the country and world. He's one of only a few surgeons that offer Skype and Facetime consults.
As an innovator who's always looking for better ways to help his patients achieve their aesthetic goals, Dr. Husain actively participates in cosmetic surgery symposiums for the latest and most innovative techniques. He's also intimately connected to the University of Miami, sharing his knowledge with students as a private practice professor. Dr. Husain educates current plastic surgery residents, hosts journal club, attends grand rounds, gives lectures, and publishes articles and research in peer review journals.
When he's not working, Dr. Husain enjoys bootcamp training, weightlifting, riding jet skis, snowboarding, and traveling.
