I found Fireplace Doctor through Groupon, purchased it and made the initial appt. for a couple of months later. They gave a two hour window and never showed. No call the previous day to remind of the appt. and no call on the day of to say sorry, we can't make it, etc. I had to call them. The man that answered the phone said, "yeah, we cancelled everything for today due to weather. I'm not sure why no one called you to inform you of this". I kind of understoond since it was the hottest day of the year; about 105; but the work was to be completed in an air conditioned house. Anyway, I rescheduled and was given another two hour window for today. No reminder call, no call to say no one was coming or that they would arrive later, etc. NOTHING! I called them again and a woman answered the phone this time. She said she would contact the service guy's supervisor to find out the deal. I said, nope, I want a refund. Unfortunately, I have to go through groupon.com to do that, but I bet their customer service is much better. This place has ZERO customer service and I'm not even sure how they are staying in business. Just irritating!

For my first appointment the technician never showed up, nor did he call. I called the company when I realized he wasn't coming and left a voice mail; however I did not hear back from anyone. The next day, I called again and was told that they didn't know why he had not shown up. I was then rescheduled and assured that he would be here. Having been stood up previously, when it got to be 30 minutes into his arrival window, I called to see exactly when he would arrive. I was told that they would call the technician to have him call me back with an arrival time. I never heard back from anyone and once again, he did not show up. I won't give them the opportunity to stand me up a third time.

1st visit (from Groupon)- 2 hours late without a call. 2nd visit- Would have been 3 hours late, so we cancelled. 3rd visit- Cancelled on me 30 minutes before my appointment. I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

The guys who came never cleaned the top damper, they damaged the cable for the damper, and the estimate they gave me was for costly and unnecessary additional work.
